Job Title: Shipping/Receiving Material Handler
Classification: Hourly
Shift : Days (6:30AM-4:30PM)
Rotating Schedule : Week 1: Mon, Wed, Fri, Sat; Week 2: Mon &Tue, Thur & Fri
Summary of Job
The Shipping Department Material Handler is responsible for operating a forklift as a means of moving product in a safe and efficient manner. Material handlers must deal with the stress of managing multiple tasks at once, and prioritizing tasks based on the situation at hand. They may be asked to perform multiple roles depending on what is necessary on any given day. Their greatest skill is having the ability to understand the safety/product/quality and relate this to the team.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
- Support, demonstrate and promote Pregis’ core values: integrity, collaboration, customer focus and innovation.
- Ensure safe handling and movement of all products and racks. All material handling should be performed with the focus on SAFE as well as secure handling of the product in order to avoid damage.
- Monitor and communicate accurate inventory control within the warehouse.
- Load/Unload incoming and outgoing trucks.
- Perform periodic audits of stored materials for quality compliance. This also pertains to material that is being loaded and shipped to customers.
- Process all shipping and receiving documentation and records.
- Maintain a current and valid forklift license. It is required that you pass the test within your first day of work.
- Working primarily at our main building but may be required to assist with operations in our other buildings.
- Adheres to the highest standards of company safety programs, guidelines, rules, and regulations including all personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements.
- Housekeeping throughout assigned shift to ensure an orderly and safe environment.
- Physical and visual inspection of product is required to prevent non-conforming goods.
- Promptly reports all quality defects to the appropriate team members.
- Attends meetings and completes safety trainings as required.

- Occasional exposure to moving equipment.
- Humidity may exceed 80%

- Minimum 2 years of warehouse/manufacturing experience preferred.
