Job summary

Ball Corporation in Glendale, AZ is seeking a Material Handler to join a fast-paced, 12-hour shift operation. You will support production by managing materials, operating forklifts, and ensuring safety and 5S standards.

This role requires a HS diploma and 1 year in an industrial setting; preferred 3+ years forklift experience and ERP familiarity (JD Edwards/AS900). Onsite position with 4 days on/4 days off, 6:00am-6:00pm or 6:00pm-6:00am.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or education equivalent.
• 1 year of work experience in an industrial environment.
• Experience operating forklifts and familiarity with ERP systems is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Follow 5S standards and safety policies including PPE and emergency procedures.

Position Overview:

As a Material Handler, you’re a member of an assigned production crew, reporting to the Plant Warehouse Supervisor. You will contribute to the success of Ball by observing operating principles of all assigned equipment and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for your area of responsibility.

The Glendale plant is a high-volume, fast-paced 24/7-365 days/year manufacturing environment. Our crews work 12 -hour shifts (6:00am-6pm/6:00pm-6am) working 4 days on/4 days off and rotating from day to night shift every 32 days.

Your Key Responsibilities Include:

Follow all 5S standards and job safety practices and policies including but not limited to food safety; personal protective equipment; emergency procedures, etc.

Operate forklift and coordinate products including raw materials, scrap, finished goods, packaging materials, chemicals, and other supplies.

Effectively communicate with vendors, delivery drivers, and customers.

Inspect aluminium for proper quality standards and customer specifications.

Build positive relationships across designated team by effectively collaborating,

communicating, and upholding ethical integrity.

Required Experience & Skills:

High School Diploma or education equivalent.

1 year of work experience in an industrial environment.

Preferred Experience & Skills:

3 or more years of operation and maintenance of forklift.

Working knowledge of proper hazardous waste management.

Experience using JD Edwards, AS900, or similar warehouse or ERP system.

Physical Environment & Working Conditions:

May be subject to all of the following, but not limited to:

Hot/Cold working conditions.

Standing and walking for prolonged periods of time.

Climbing (stairs, catwalks, and other equipment as necessary).

• Expected Hiring Rate Range:$27.37/hr.
