Job summary

Daikin Applied Americas Inc. is hiring for a material handler in Dayton, OH. The role supports our HVAC manufacturing operations with hands-on material handling, packing, and order accuracy.

The position requires reading work orders, operating forklifts or pallet jacks, and maintaining safety standards. The shift options include 1st and 2nd shifts with a wage of $18.00–$19.00 per hour plus $1 shift differential on the 2nd shift.

Qualifications

• High School GED or 2+ years manufacturing/production experience.
• Ability to lift and move materials in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to read and understand written English.

Responsibilities

• Read work orders to identify materials to pick, move or process.
• Load/unload materials with manual, forklift, pallet jack or conveyor.
• Pack and prepare cartons for shipping and ensure safe packing.
• Ensure accuracy of orders and secure packaging for shipment.
• Operate pallet jack and forklift regularly.
• Meet quality and productivity targets and follow safety policies.

Your Responsibilities:

• Reads work order or pick tickets or follows oral instructions to ascertain materials or containers to be picked, moved, or processed
• Loads and unloads materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks, and shelves by hand, forklift, pallet jack, conveyor, or other material handling equipment
• Loads materials into vehicles and installs banding and stretch wrapping to prevent shifting or damage in transit
• Conveys materials from storage or work sites to designated area
• Counts, weighs, and records number of units of materials moved or handled on daily production sheet
• Attaches identifying tags or labels to materials or marks information or cases or containers
• Packs and prepares cartons for shipping to customers
• Ensures accuracy or order and security of packaging to avoid damage in shipment
• Operate a pallet jack and forklift on a regular basis
• Able to meet quality and productivity deliverables
• Adheres to all safety policies and procedures
• Other duties as assigned

Your Qualifications:

• The ability to lift, push, and/or pull materials, stand for majority of the shift, and work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment while maintaining proper PPE.
• The ability to use hand tools for extended periods of time.
• The ability to read and understand written English.
• High School Education/GED OR Minimum 2 years of related experience in a manufacturing/production environment.
