About The Position

We are seeking a motivated material handler to join our team. This position is responsible for executing safety standards, achieving daily productivity goals, meeting quality requirements, performing routine maintenance, and assisting with non-routine maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Follow Triple-S safe methods of work at all times and report unsafe conditions immediately.
• Safely move steel to and from storage or production areas using appropriate equipment.
• Attach slings, hooks, or other devices to lift material and guide loads; climb onto vehicles to tie down and release material during loading. This is a daily activity.
• Lift and carry up to 50 pounds for up to 25 feet; exert force as needed; work in various weather conditions; wear personal protective equipment.
• Apply proper bundling techniques and configure loads based on routes and stops.
• Maximize load capacity on trailers without compromising safety.
• Maintain and operate tools and equipment safely, report safety issues promptly.
• Work indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Maintain spatial awareness and judge distances to ensure safety around moving objects and personnel.
• Attend all required company meetings and perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Ability to read work orders and follow instructions accurately.
• Meet or exceed productivity standards safely.
• Plan and organize work independently and in teams.
• Develop knowledge of product and inventory control techniques.
• Communicate effectively across departments regarding routing, safety, and customer relations.
• Demonstrate basic math skills.
• Strong customer relations skills may be required.

Physical Requirements

• Use hands, fingers, talk, and hear.
• Occasionally stand, walk, reach, lift up to 25-40 pounds.
• Vision abilities include close, distance, color vision, and focus adjustment.

Working Conditions
