About the Position

We are seeking a motivated Material Handler to join our team. This role involves executing safety standards, achieving daily productivity goals while maintaining quality, performing routine maintenance, and assisting with non-routine maintenance tasks.

Responsibilities

1. Follow safety methods at all times and report unsafe conditions.
2. Safely move steel to and from storage, production areas, and vehicles using appropriate equipment.
3. Lift and carry up to 50 pounds for up to 25 feet, and exert force as needed.
4. Apply proper bundling techniques and configure loads based on routes.
5. Maximize trailer load capacity safely.
6. Operate tools and equipment safely, including forklifts and cranes.
7. Identify safety issues with equipment and report them promptly.
8. Work indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions.
9. Maintain spatial awareness and coordinate with team members.
10. Attend all required meetings and perform other duties as assigned.
11. Read work orders and instructions accurately.
12. Meet or exceed productivity standards safely.
13. Plan and organize work independently and as part of a team.
14. Develop knowledge of product and inventory control.
15. Maintain communication across departments.
16. Demonstrate basic math skills.
17. Possibly demonstrate strong customer relations skills.

Physical Requirements

• Use hands, fingers, talk, and hear.
• Occasionally stand, walk, reach.
• Lift/move up to 25 pounds regularly, up to 40 pounds occasionally.
• Vision abilities include close, distance, color, and focus adjustment.

Working Conditions

Exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes, chemicals, and electrical risks. Moderate noise level, potentially high at times. Accommodations available for disabilities.
