Job summary

Afinitas, a BW Forsyth unit, seeks a material handling professional for a manufacturing support role in the United States. You will review shop drawings, track parts, and coordinate workflow to meet project milestones in a plant environment.

The position requires 2-4 years in material handling, 2 years in fabrication shops, and strong communication skills. Competitive benefits accompany day-one eligibility.

Qualifications

  • 2-4 years of material handling experience.
  • 2 years’ experience in fabrication shop environment.
  • 2 years’ experience with reading blueprints.
  • Strong verbal and written interpersonal/communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Review shop drawings and other pertinent project information to identify and understand the scope of work for each project.
  • Interpret job schedule and track all parts from material receipt, to completion.
  • Coordinate workflow to meet the established schedule milestones.
  • Move completed parts from designated department complete areas to the next location based on the next step for the part.
  • Mark in job scheduling software when subcontractor parts are received.
  • Communicate with Supervisors and Plant Manager when parts are in danger of being late.
  • Generate and attach BOLs in job scheduling software for parts moving to subcontractor network.
  • Organize all local trucking.
  • Communicate progress of workflow toward achievement of project milestones to the Plant Manager.
  • Work in other departments as needed when not actively performing duties above, delegated by Utility Supervisor.
  • Other duties as required.

Job Description:
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES

QUALIFICATIONS
  • 2-4 years of material handling experience
  • 2 years’ experience in fabrication shop environment
  • 2 years’ Experience with reading blueprints
  • Strong verbal and written interpersonal/communication skills required
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and adapt to shifting priorities
  • Ability to work individually as well as in a team environment
WORK ENVIRONMENT
  • Works in a plant/manufacturing environment that involves the use of industrial machinery and chemicals. Employee must be able to correctly wear and use any Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) required at the location.

Compensation: The approximate pay range for this position is $22-24/hour.
