Material Handler (Transportation)
Ensures orderly production and distribution of products by pulling orders from inventory, delivering production materials and supplies where needed, and staging finished product final distribution.
Locates materials and supplies by pulling and verifying materials and supplies listed on production orders.
Maintains in-process inventory at work centers by delivering and opening materials and supplies.
Documents materials and records units delivered and location of units.
Prepares finished stock for shipment by identifying, pulling, packing, crating, loading, and securing product.
Maintains material-handling equipment by completing pre-use inspections.
Operates forklifts, pallet jacks, and other machinery to move items, or signals machine operators to move materials
Keeps inventory, loading areas, and machinery clean.
Receive and inspect incoming materials and products for quality, quantity, and accuracy of shipment.
Verify inventory computations by comparing them to physical counts of stock and investigate discrepancies or adjust errors.
Store items in an orderly and accessible manner in warehouses, tool rooms, supply rooms, or other areas.
Mark units with identification tags or other labeling equipment.
Handling documentation of work orders, bills of lading, and shipping orders to route materials.
Maintain inventory transactions and perform cycle counts to ensure accuracy of stock levels.
Assist with inventory control and audits as needed.
Maintain safe, clean, and orderly workstation.
Other assigned duties as needed.
