Job summary

ColonialWebb is hiring an experienced Material Handler to support our Richmond logistics and warehouse operations. This role is responsible for receiving, inspecting, storing, staging, issuing, and tracking materials and tools that support electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and piping projects.

The ideal candidate has strong warehouse and forklift experience and can maintain accurate inventory records in a fast-paced environment.

  • Ability to organize and complete multiple priorities within required timelines.

Responsibilities

  • Receive, inspect, store, locate, stage, and issue materials.
  • Compare incoming shipments against purchase orders, freight bills, and packing lists.
  • Inspect materials for damage, shortages, overages, or incorrect quantities.
  • Photograph and document shipment discrepancies.
  • Tag materials with the appropriate purchase order, receiver, or identification number.
  • Coordinate the safe offloading and placement of incoming materials.
  • Store materials in their assigned locations and document location changes.
  • Pick, stage, and prepare materials for outbound shipments.
  • Coordinate loading once orders are complete and ready for shipment.
  • Maintain accurate documentation for all received and issued materials.
  • Track tool inventory, including quantity, condition, and location.
  • Operate forklifts and other approved material-handling equipment safely.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse.
  • Report inventory, equipment, safety, or facility concerns to the Logistics Team Lead.

Job Summary

ColonialWebb is hiring an experienced Material Handler to support our logistics and warehouse operations in Richmond. What You’ll Do

What We’re Looking For
  • At least three years of warehouse and forklift experience.
  • Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and piping materials.
  • Working knowledge of inventory and material-control procedures.
  • Ability to recognize workplace hazards and follow appropriate safety precautions.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to organize and complete multiple priorities within required timelines.
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
  • Professional communication skills when working with vendors, suppliers, customers, and coworkers.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel safely throughout the region.
Physical and Work Environment

This is a fully on-site position and is not eligible for remote work. Regularly works within warehouse and logistics environments. Must be able to stand, walk, bend, and move throughout the facility for extended periods. Must be able to wear required PPE, including a hard hat, safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, safety footwear, fall protection, and a high-visibility vest. Lifting above 80 pounds requires advance planning and the use of material-handling equipment or assistance from another employee. Occasional travel to jobsites, regional offices, or off-site meetings may be required. Overnight travel is rare.
