Job summary

Toyota Automated Logistics in Noblesville, IN is seeking a Material Handler to support assembly and shipping operations. The role involves forklift operation, picking, staging and kitting, with a focus on inventory accuracy and safe, 6S-compliant work practices.

You will interact with ERP/WMS systems, coordinate with purchasing and manufacturing, and ensure on-time shipments. Candidate must have forklift certification and be eligible to work in the USA without sponsorship.

Qualifications

  • Ability to pass Bastian Powered Industrial Vehicle test.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and safety mindset.

  • Ability to operate heavy duty equipment safely.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and data entry.
  • Familiarity with ERP or WMS systems (SAP, Oracle, D365).

  • Ability to read engineering drawings/prints.
  • A Level I Material Handler can perform staging, receiving and shipping.
  • Eligible to work in the USA long term without sponsorship.
  • Adherence to information security policies.

Responsibilities

  • Operate forklifts to move materials within the facility and support packing lines.
  • Unloading, loading, put away and staging of parts according to schedules.
  • Accurately track material movements in ERP/WMS systems.
  • Communicate status with purchasing, manufacturing and project managers.
  • Generate picking Bills of Materials as needed.
  • Coordinate shipping/receiving schedules to meet ship dates.
  • Sort and stage parts into racks, carts or containers with productivity goals.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area following 6S principles.
  • Identify missing parts or incomplete orders and escalate to avoid delays.
  • Support inventory accuracy and improve staging/kitting processes.
  • Understand project requirements and assembly components.

Job Description

Material Handler

Job Overview:

This position is responsible for a variety of Material Handling tasks, including but not limited to picking, staging and kitting of purchased and manufactured parts to support assembly and shipping operations, forklift operations, shipping and receiving operations, cycle counts of inventory, etc. The position requires the highest level of accuracy due to customer expectations and the critical importance of inventory accuracy. This position requires a forklift certification as well as handling/sorting of parts into racks, carts or containers throughout the day.

Shift:

  • 1 st Shift: 6:00 AM – 2:30 AM

Job Functions:

  • With little guidance Operation of Forklifts to move materials within the facility. Unloading, loading, put away, transporting to packing line and staging areas within the facility and meeting productivity.
  • Interaction with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system and accurate tracking of all material movements.
  • With little guidance communication with purchasing, manufacturing and project managers with regards to material and order status.
  • Generation of picking Bill of Materials as necessary
  • Coordination of shipping / receiving schedules
  • Handling and sorting of parts into pallet racks, staging carts or and containers while meeting the productivity expectations.
  • Maintaining a clean and safe work area utilizing the principles of 6S.
  • Identify missing parts or incomplete orders, shipments or kits and escalate as necessary to ensure ship dates are not missed.
  • Ensure inventory accuracy by owning and continuously improving the inventory and staging / kitting system.
  • Understanding of project requirements and components of our various assemblies

  • No travel is required for this position.

Required Qualifications and Preferred Skills:

  • Ability to pass Bastian Powered Industrial Vehicle test
