Job Title: Material Handler
Contract Duration: One-year contract with potential for conversion to FTE within twelve months

Location: Newark, DE
Schedule: Monday-Friday 7 AM - 4 PM with an hour lunch, with potential for overtime
Job Summary
- The Material Handler performs activities related to the timely and efficient movement of materials (receipt, handling, storage, shipment) in a fast-paced production environment.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment, consistently meet productivity metrics, and adhere to all company and departmental policies.
- Acquire job skills and learn company policies and procedures to complete routine tasks. Normally receives detailed instructions on all work. Works under limited supervision.
- Works on assignments that are routine in nature, requiring limited judgment. Has little or no role in decision-making.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- The Material Handler may be asked to perform other function-related activities as reasonably required by business needs.
- Perform physical activities related to unloading, storage, picking, labeling, packaging, and shipping of materials.
- Perform repetitive assembly of the company's products into complete packages, including software, medical or pharmaceutical products, PC boards, accessories, manuals, operating instructions, and data sheets.
- Perform other packaging tasks, including labeling, operating small production equipment, organizing manuals, counting and sorting items, and preparing boxes for the final product.
- Maintain related records to comply with government standards when applicable.
- Perform basic computer transactions/scans to manage materials.
- Count and record departmental Cycle Count results to maintain inventory accuracy.
- Operate material handling equipment (MHE) safely and efficiently.
- Support production operations and customer requirements.
Physical Demands
- Sit; use hands to handle objects; stand; walk; reach; stoop; kneel; crouch; crawl.
- Lifting/moving products weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Exposure to moving mechanical parts, vibration, and moderate noise levels.
- Safety shoes with impact and compression protection are required.
Qualifications
Education
- High School diploma or GED; an Associate's degree is a plus.
Experience
- 1-3 years of relevant experience.
Skills
- Basic understanding of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Experience with basic computer transactions/scans for inventory management.
- Ability to read, understand, and follow written procedures.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Teamwork skills.
- Complete required training and demonstrate safe operation of departmental MHE.
- Adherence to safety and security procedures.
Beneficial Skills
- Basic experience with Oracle.
- Understanding of warehouse, manufacturing, or distribution processes.

- This role requires operating forklifts/pallet jacks.
