Job summary

ACME CONSTRUCTION SUPPLY in Reno, NV is seeking a Material Handler to fulfill orders, organize inventory, and support daily warehouse operations. This full-time role runs Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

and offers steady daytime hours in a fast-paced setting. You will locate materials with RF devices, unload and put away product with a forklift, ensure accurate receiving and stocking, and help with labeling, packaging, and cycle counts.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of experience in material handling or warehousing preferred.
• RF devices experience a plus.
• Forklift certification preferred or required.

Responsibilities

• Pull orders and locate materials using RF/warehouse procedures.
• Unload products with forklift or manual handling and store them correctly.
• Inspect incoming goods against purchase orders and record discrepancies.
• Aim for high accuracy in order pulling and inventory counts.
• Label, palletize and wrap products for staging as needed.
• Prepare and assemble products for non-stock/custom orders.
• Operate warehouse equipment safely and efficiently.
• Keep the warehouse clean and comply with safety policies.
• Assist with load-outs and returns per branch procedures.
• Collaborate with team to optimize workflow.
• Participate in material handling training and related duties.

Position Type: Full Time

Salary Range: $22.00 - $24.00 Hourly

Hourly Rate: $22-$24/hour + Monthly incentive bonus after 90 days of employment.

Shift: Monday - Friday, 7:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

Summary

The Material Handler is primarily responsible for fulfilling orders, organizing and maintaining existing inventory, loading and unloading delivery trucks, putting away stock and being a dependable and reliable team player.

Responsibilities

• Locates material and pulls orders using established RF/warehouse procedures to fulfill orders;
• Responsible for unloading product (using both a forklift and hand loading) and putting away product accurately to designated areas within the warehouse;
• Checks in any incoming product using established RF/warehouse procedures for receiving, ensuring deliveries match the company purchase order;
• Meets or exceeds established goals for order pulling accuracy and inventory accuracy;
• Performs any necessary activities to get products ready for staging such as accurate labeling, palletizing and/or wrapping ;
• Preps and assembles products as needed for custom non stock orders;
• Safely and efficiently operates equipment and machinery (defined by position) such as a forklift, pallet jacks and other warehouse equipment;
• Assists in maintaining the warehouse in an orderly and clean state, and complies with all company safety policies and procedures;
• Assists with will-call service by helping load customer orders, or unloads material that is being returned using branch procedures and protocols;
• Assists with "kitting" related duties which include but are not limited to: Building transfers or work orders for kitting as specified by the customer, labeling material, assist with customized packaging solutions, etc.;
• May assist with conducting cycle counts as needed;
• Collaborates with Warehouse Management and team members to optimize workflow;
• Participates in any relevant material handling training as assigned by the Company;
• Performs other related duties within the warehouse as assigned by Management.;
• Adheres to all company policies, procedures and safety regulations.

Qualifications

• A minimum of one year experience in a similar position is preferred;
• Previous experience in material handling, warehousing or logistics is a plus;
• Experience with RF devices is a plus;
• Basic understanding of inventory systems and order processing is a plus;
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast paced environment;
• Experience with forklift and ability to maintain forklift certification;
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills;
• Basic math and reading skills (in English) to interpret work orders, inventory labels, and safety information;
• Good communication skills and a positive attitude.

Physical Requirements

• The employee is regularly required to sit; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel computer equipment; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear; use hands and arms to reach for, grasp and manipulate objects; stand, climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl;
• May be required to move or traverse considerable distances in the facility during the course of a workday;
• Must have the physical abilities to perform essential warehouse tasks;
• Must have good physical fitness with the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. to a height of 3-4 feet and load product into trucks;
• Must be able to remain in a stationary position for an extended period of time;
• Ability to ascend/descend a ladder to pull or put away product from shelving and racking;
• Ability to safely operate a dolly, pallet jack and/or forklift in loading and unloading supplies.
