Job description

The Materials Handler supports internal operations by accurately, safely, and efficiently handling, transporting, and distributing materials. This role is responsible for maintaining organized inventory, verifying incoming shipments, performing inventory counts, and ensuring materials are available to support production and operational needs.

Essential Job Functions
  • Store materials, tools, and supplies in an orderly and accessible manner in warehouses, stockrooms, tool rooms, or other designated areas.
  • Receive, pack, unpack, sort, and stock materials and supplies according to established procedures.
  • Verify the accuracy of incoming shipments, inspect materials for damage or defects, and report discrepancies or concerns to supervision.
  • Safely and efficiently operate forklifts and other material handling equipment in accordance with company safety standards.
  • Distribute materials and supplies to internal customers in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Perform physical inventory counts and assist with inventory control and reconciliation activities.
  • Maintain accurate records of material movements, inventory levels, and shipments as required.
  • Assist other departments with material handling needs as required.
  • Support general housekeeping and organization of warehouse and storage areas.
Schedule

The standard schedule for this position is:

  • Day Shift: Monday - Thursday, 6:00 AM to 4:30 PM

Flexibility may be required to work additional hours, evenings, or weekends based on production needs.

Required Qualifications
  • Forklift operation experience required.
  • Ability to learn and perform basic computer functions such as data entry, email communication, and inventory systems, with training.
  • Basic mathematical skills for counting, measuring, and inventory tracking.
  • Ability to read and interpret basic work instructions and safety procedures.
  • Strong attention to detail, manual dexterity, and a commitment to quality.
  • Must be safety-focused and able to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Must be a U.S citizen.
Preferred Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Prior experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environment.
Physical Requirements
  • Standing and walking: more than two-thirds of the time.
  • Sitting: less than one-third of the time.
  • Fingering/manual dexterity: more than two-thirds of the time.
  • Repetitive finger motion: one-third to two-thirds of the time.
  • Lifting up to 50 pounds: one-third to two-thirds of the time.
  • Lifting 100+ pounds: less than one-third of the time (with assistance or equipment).
  • Reaching, stretching, crouching, or stooping: one-third to two-thirds of the time.
  • Climbing or balancing: less than one-third of the time.
  • Speaking and hearing: more than two-thirds of the time.
  • Visual acuity required for inventory verification and inspection.
Working Conditions

Work performed primarily in a manufacturing environment with exposure to loud noise levels.
