Job summary

Nashville Record Pressing is seeking a Material Handler to support production by safely moving and storing materials while maintaining inventory accuracy and workplace safety. The role requires passing a written exam and operating warehouse equipment including an electric pallet jack.

You will stage materials, coordinate with leads, scan movements in IFS and SAP, and keep presses supplied with grinders. This position offers first and second shifts with paid lunch.

Qualifications

  • Must read and interpret daily production schedules and work instructions.
  • Qualified to operate warehouse equipment, including electric pallet jack.
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to work in a team and communicate clearly with coworkers and supervisors.
  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with inventory systems (IFS, SAP) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Interpret the Daily Production Schedule to determine material requirements.
  • Stage materials at the appropriate production resource, ensuring the right material is available at the right time.
  • Communicate with the Recycling Team Lead and Production Team Lead regarding material requirements and operational needs.
  • Ensure all materials remain properly covered to prevent contamination.
  • Load, unload, and transport products and materials manually and with material handling equipment as required.
  • Maintain clean, safe, and organized work areas by storing inventory in designated locations.
  • Move finished products and store them in designated warehouse locations using SAP transactions as required.
  • Remove scrap material from production areas as needed using designated recycling processes.
  • Ensure presses are properly supplied with grinders when available.
  • Monitor vacuum systems at presses to ensure proper operation.
  • Assist with cleaning equipment and work areas.
  • Ensure all material movements are accurately scanned and recorded in the IFS system.
  • Communicate regularly with Press Operators regarding upcoming material changes, production needs, and operational challenges.
  • Complete and maintain accurate documentation related to assigned duties.
  • Perform operator-level duties on flash grinders.
  • Perform routine housekeeping activities to maintain a safe and efficient work environment.
  • Follow all safety, quality, and company policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Team Leader, Manager, or designee.

Role Description

The Material Handler supports production operations by safely moving, storing, staging, and managing materials within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role ensures materials are available at the right location and time to support production schedules while maintaining inventory accuracy, material quality, and workplace safety. The Material Handler must successfully pass the required written exam and be qualified to operate warehouse equipment, including, at minimum, an electric pallet jack.

Qualifications

Physical Demands
  • Required to stand and walk for the majority of the shift.
  • Must be able to carry, lift, push, and pull up to 60 pounds throughout the shift, with material handling equipment available to assist when appropriate.
  • Frequent bending, stooping, squatting, reaching, pushing, and pulling.
  • Must be able to safely operate an electric pallet jack and other authorized material handling equipment.
  • Ability to perform repetitive motions involving hands, wrists, and arms.
  • Must be able to work in a warehouse environment with varying temperatures, including elevated temperatures during summer months.
  • Must be able to work in an environment with varying noise levels while adhering to required safety practices

Pay Scale

First Shift - $19.48/hr (Monday-Friday 7AM-3PM *Paid Lunch*)

Second Shift - $20.48/hr (Monday-Friday 3PM-11PM *Paid Lunch*
