Job summary

Dagen is seeking a motivated Material Handler / Asset Recovery Coordinator to support field operations across the Permian Basin. You will identify, track, and move company materials from field sites to yards, disposal vendors, or approved buyers, while ensuring accurate records in SAP.

Ideal candidates will have oilfield logistics experience, strong inventory control skills, and the ability to work independently in varied outdoor environments.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in material handling, warehouse ops, inventory, logistics or oilfield work.
• Experience in Permian Basin or similar oilfield environments preferred.
• Forklift operation required and safe equipment handling.
• Ability to identify oilfield materials, fittings, valves and related inventory.

Responsibilities

• Travel to field locations to identify equipment, verify quantities, assess condition and document assets.
• Determine redeployment, storage, sale or disposal of surplus equipment and materials.
• Coordinate removal, transport, storage, disposal or sale with vendors and yards.
• Maintain accurate asset records and inventory transactions in SAP.
• Process transfers and movements, receive, inspect and verify materials against part numbers.
• Ensure proper documentation of sales proceeds with Finance.

Job description

Our client is seeking a highly motivated Material Handler / Asset Recovery Coordinator to support field operations throughout the Permian Basin. This role is responsible for identifying, evaluating, tracking, and coordinating the movement of company-owned materials and equipment from field locations to inventory yards, disposal vendors, or approved buyers.

The ideal candidate has experience in oilfield operations, warehouse logistics, inventory management, and material handling. Successful candidates are safety-focused, mechanically inclined, comfortable working independently in the field, and experienced with inventory systems such as SAP.

Key Responsibilities

• Travel to company field locations to identify equipment, verify quantities, assess condition, and document assets.
• Evaluate whether equipment can be redeployed, stored for future use, sold, or scrapped.
• Coordinate the removal, transportation, storage, disposal, or sale of surplus equipment and materials.
• Work closely with Operations, Supply Chain, Finance, and other internal stakeholders to maintain accurate asset records.
• Process equipment transfers, receipts, inventory transactions, and material movements within SAP.
• Coordinate with vendors, trucking companies, scrap yards, and inventory facilities to support field cleanup activities.
• Ensure proceeds from equipment sales are properly documented and communicated to Finance.
• Load, unload, transport, and stage materials at inventory yards and operational locations.
• Receive, inspect, identify, and verify materials using part numbers, descriptions, and inventory documentation.
• Accurately maintain inventory records and transaction documentation.
• Count, weigh, measure, and record materials handled or moved.
• Label, tag, and organize materials in accordance with company procedures.
• Maintain clean and organized warehouses, yards, and work areas.
• Follow all company safety practices, environmental requirements, and operational procedures.

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• 3+ years of experience in material handling, warehouse operations, inventory management, logistics, or oilfield operations.
• Experience working in the Permian Basin or similar oilfield environments preferred.
• Forklift operating experience required.
• Ability to safely operate material handling equipment and work around heavy equipment.
• Experience with inventory systems, ERP systems, or SAP preferred.
• Strong understanding of shipping, receiving, inventory control, and warehouse processes.
• Ability to identify oilfield materials, equipment, fittings, valves, pipe, and related inventory items.
• Valid driver's license with a safe driving record.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience with: SAP inventory transactions
• Oilfield equipment and asset management
• Supply chain or warehouse operations
• Material recovery, salvage, or asset disposition programs
• Knowledge of operational practices and inventory processes.
• Safety certifications such as OSHA, H2S, First Aid, or CPR.

Physical Requirements

• Frequent standing, walking, bending, climbing, and lifting.
• Ability to repetitively lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions throughout the Permian Basin.
• Ability to safely navigate active industrial and oilfield environments.
• Ability to operate forklifts and other material handling equipment.
