Socket.dev in Rhode Island is looking for a Materials Associate I to move and stage materials for production, ensuring timely availability and accurate handling. You will operate forklifts, support ERP/barcode processes, and maintain organized staging areas in a high-volume environment.
Candidates must have a forklift certification or commit to obtaining it within 90 days, and thrive in a physically active role with attention to safety and accuracy.
The Material Handler plays an important role in keeping materials flowing efficiently throughout the facility. This position is responsible for transporting, staging, organizing, and preparing materials for use in production and other designated areas. The associate will operate material-handling equipment, maintain orderly workspaces, and help ensure that the appropriate materials are available to the right location when needed.
Forklift certification or willingness to become certified is required. Candidates who are not currently certified must obtain certification within 90 days of hire.
This position involves regular physical activity, including standing, walking, bending, and lifting materials as part of normal job duties.
The Materials Associate I must also be capable of working in cold-storage areas. Typical temperatures are approximately 40°F, with occasional exposure to environments as cold as -4°F.
