Job summary

Bay Family of Companies is expanding to Lansing, MI and seeks a Material Handler to join the team. You will help keep materials and finished products moving safely and efficiently, support production, and operate forklifts and other material-handling equipment.

This is a full-time role with a benefits package including medical, dental and vision insurance, 401(k) with company match, a Health Savings Account option, paid time off, and employee discounts.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• At least 1 year of manufacturing, warehouse, or material-handling experience preferred.
• Valid forklift certification or ability to become certified upon hire.
• Ability to read and follow work orders and shipping documents.
• Strong attention to detail and good communication/teamwork skills.
• Basic computer and inventory-system skills.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stay active throughout shift.

Responsibilities

• Safely load, unload, transport, and stage raw materials and finished products.
• Operate forklifts and other approved material-handling equipment.
• Keep production supplied with the correct materials to maintain an efficient workflow.
• Prepare, package, and process outgoing shipments.
• Verify incoming materials against purchase orders and shipping documents.
• Identify and report damaged, missing, or incorrect materials.
• Maintain accurate inventory counts and movement records.
• Complete Bills of Lading, Picking Lists, Packing Slips, and other documentation.
• Perform quality checks on product condition, labeling, and documentation.
• Complete daily forklift safety inspections and report equipment concerns.
• Safely secure loads and follow traffic/storage procedures.
• Keep aisles and storage areas clean and organized.
• Collaborate with production and shipping to ensure on-time shipments.

As a Material Handler, you'll play an essential role in keeping our production operation running smoothly. You'll make sure the right materials are in the right place at the right time—supporting production, preparing shipments, managing inventory, and safely operating forklifts and other material-handling equipment.

What You'll Do

As a Material Handler, you'll help keep materials and finished products moving safely and efficiently throughout our facility.

Your responsibilities will include:
