Job summary

The Bay Family of Companies is expanding to Lansing, Michigan and seeks a Machine Operator to join our new operation. You will set up and operate laminators and band saws, perform safety inspections, adjust settings, and ensure quality and on-time shipments.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Manufacturing, warehouse, or material-handling experience preferred.
• Forklift certification or ability to become certified.
• Ability to read and follow work instructions.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Basic computer skills.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and remain active during shift.
• Fiberglass insulation or manufacturing experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Safely set up and operate laminators and band saws.
• Complete daily equipment safety inspections and scheduled maintenance.
• Adjust machine settings to meet production specifications.
• Perform quality and compliance checks throughout production.
• Track production, waste, downtime, and material usage; stage materials to keep production running smoothly.
• Assist with loading, unloading, packaging, and shipping as needed.
• Maintain accurate inventory and production records.
• Help ensure finished products are labeled, stored, and prepared for shipment.
• Keep the production area clean, organized, and safe.
• Work closely with General Laborers and other team members to maintain an efficient workflow.
• Follow safety procedures and promptly communicate equipment or workplace concerns.

As a Machine Operator, you'll operate and set up production equipment, maintain quality standards, keep materials moving efficiently, and help ensure our customers receive their orders accurately and on time.

What You'll Do

Requirements
