Job summary

The Bay Family of Companies in Lansing, Michigan is hiring dependable General Laborers to join our production team. You will help keep materials moving, support production, and ensure orders are completed safely and accurately.

This full-time position offers a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental and vision, a 401(k) match, Health Savings Account, paid time off and holidays, and company events.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Manufacturing, warehouse, or material-handling experience preferred.
• Forklift certification or ability to become certified upon hire.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and remain active throughout the shift.
• Commitment to safety, organization, and productivity.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and load fiberglass insulation and facing materials into production equipment.
• Start, wrap, identify, and unload finished laminated products.
• Load and unload trucks.
• Prepare and package materials and finished products for shipment.
• Move materials throughout the facility to keep production supplied.
• Help stage materials for production runs and order changeovers.
• Perform quality checks to ensure finished products meet customer requirements.
• Accurately label and store raw materials and finished products.
• Assist with inventory counts and waste reporting.
• Safely operate forklifts and other material-handling equipment.
• Safely operate balers, trash compactors, band saws, and power tools.
• Assist Machine Operators with the safe and efficient operation of laminators.
• Complete daily equipment safety inspections.
• Keep work areas, aisles, and storage areas clean and organized.
• Work as part of a team to help ensure orders are completed and shipped on time.
