Job summary

thyssenkrupp Materials NA in Kyle, TX is seeking a warehouse associate to move raw materials, finished goods, and equipment on the floor using a forklift. You may also utilize cranes, hoists, hand trucks, and other equipment under general supervision to handle moderately complex issues.

The shift is Monday - Thursday 6:00am - 4:30pm, with duties including product handling, order picking, cycle counts, and safety compliance with ISO and 6S initiatives.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• 2–4 years warehousing experience, preferably in Metals.
• Must be able to lift up to 70 lbs for 100 ft and read/write basic math.
• Previous forklift certification is required.
• Safety-minded with ability to sit, bend, twist and reach.

Responsibilities

• Accurately remove and stock product and supplies per inventory plan.
• Select product to fill customer orders and package properly.
• Load/unload trucks and verify items loaded.
• Pick, process, and pack orders; cut orders on Kaltenbach saw if needed.
• Conduct cycle counts and identify defective material.
• Complete paperwork per work instructions as required.
• Inspect forklift at shift start and report issues.
• Support health, safety, ISO, and 6S initiatives.

Job Summary

May also utilize cranes, hoists, hand trucks, and other moving equipment to meet job requirements. May perform other general warehouse functions in support of operational requirements. Performs work under general supervision and handles moderately complex issues and problems.

Job Description

Shift: Monday - Thursday 6:00am - 4:30pm

Key Accountabilities:

• Accurately remove and stock product, customer’s product, and various supplies according to inventory plan
• Accurately select product to fill customer orders and package them properly
• Load and unload trucks and verify that correct items are loaded and unloaded
• Picking, processing and packing orders, also may be required to cut orders on Kaltenbach saw
• Cycle Counts
• Identify, hold and segregate defective material
• Complete paperwork per work instructions, when required
• Perform general clean up
• Inspect forklift at the beginning of every shift; report issues to immediate supervisor or other designated personnel
• Participate, support and comply with all health, safety, ISO and 6S Initiatives and requirements
• Assist in any other duties to support the operation, as requested by supervisor or team lead
• Train others when required
• This is a position that works directly on the warehouse floor on or around heavy machinery

Qualifications:

Minimum Requirements:

• High School Diploma / GED
• 2 to 4 years of warehousing experience - especially in Metals industry
• History of consistent dependable attendance
• Ability to lift and carry up to 70 lbs. for 100 feet
• Ability to read, write and perform basic math skills
• Previous forklift certification
• Must be able to sit for long periods of time and perform bending, twisting, squatting, reaching and grasping motions
• Safety Mindset

Preferred Requirements:

• Use of handheld measuring tools preferred
• Basic computer skills and knowledge, such as with database programs and Microsoft Office programs preferred
• LEAN and/or Quality Control experience preferred
