Job summary

thyssenkrupp Materials NA in Detroit is seeking a Warehouse Associate to support the storage and shipping of raw materials and finished products on a busy shop floor. The role involves operating material handling equipment, assisting with order filling and paperwork, and maintaining equipment while adhering to safety guidelines.

The ideal candidate has a safety mindset, the ability to lift up to 50 lbs, basic math and computer skills, and familiarity with scanning technology.

Responsibilities

• Perform sorting, stacking, cleaning, washing, stocking and inspection of cartons, pallets, or parts as assigned to support the operation.
• Assist in filling and packaging orders and completing paperwork according to instructions.
• Operate cranes, forklifts, and other material handling equipment to move/deliver stock.
• Assist machine operators with a variety of functions as required to support the operation.
• Perform general clean-up activities.
• Maintain all equipment in working condition; report issues or breakdowns to Supervisor or Lead immediately.
• Train others when required.
• Participate, support, and comply with all health, safety, quality, and Lean initiatives and requirements.
• This is a position that works directly on the warehouse floor on or around heavy machinery.
