Job summary

Roskam Foods in Grand Rapids, MI, is seeking a dedicated warehouse/prod support role. The position involves operating lifting devices, loading and unloading materials, inspecting loads, and ensuring timely delivery across production lines.

Responsibilities

• Operate forklifts and lifting devices to load, unload, transport, or stack material.
• Inspect loads for accuracy and move them safely to ensure timely delivery.
• Load or unload materials from pallets and platforms, using manual or mechanical methods.
• Position lifting devices and secure loads for transport.
• Weigh materials and record production data on tags/labels.
• Follow FIFO procedures.
• Forecast material needs and stage lines to keep production supplied.
• Inspect equipment and materials to identify defects and report them.

Key Essential Functions/ Responsibilities:

• Move levers or controls that operate lifting devices, such as forklifts, lift beams with swivel-hooks, hoists, or elevated platforms, to load, unload, transport, or stack material
• Inspect product load for accuracy and safely move it around the warehouse or facility to ensure timely and complete delivery
• Manually or mechanically, load or unload materials from pallets, skids, platforms, cars, lifting devices, or other transport vehicles.
• Position lifting devices under, over, or around loaded pallets, skids, or boxes and secure material or products for transport to designated areas
• Weigh materials or products and record weight or other production data on tags or labels
• Understand and follow the order of materials for FIFO
• Forecast needs of the line and stage the line appropriately to maintain necessary materials available that allow production to run smoothly
• Inspecting equipment, structures, or material to identify causes of errors or other problems or defects and reporting then through the appropriate channels
