Description

Purpose

  • Loads, unloads, and moves materials within or near plant or off-site storage facility by performing assigned duties. Additional duties may be assigned as needed.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

  • Receive and store all incoming raw materials and direct raw materials to appropriate storage locations.
  • Label and shelve raw materials; issue raw materials to work centers based on production schedules.
  • Coordinate and package deliveries to and from the warehouse according to production needs.
  • Handle and store materials at EHOB and off-site warehouses.
  • Conduct weekly, bi-weekly, and monthly inventory counts of raw materials.
  • Weigh and stage welded goods for shipment to Goodwill or EDC.
  • Provide containers at work areas for finished goods.
  • Deliver raw materials to production areas.
  • Load and unload deliveries at EHOB.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Education and/or Experience

  • High school diploma or GED, or previous steady employment and relevant experience.

Qualifications

  • Ability to read and understand simple instructions, memos, and short correspondence; capable of writing simple correspondence.
  • Effective communication skills for one-on-one and small group interactions.
  • Basic math skills: addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
  • Ability to understand and follow detailed instructions; problem-solving skills involving standard situations.
  • Certification to operate a forklift; basic knowledge of Outlook, Traverse, and Excel.

Physical Demands

Employees must frequently stand, walk, sit, manipulate objects, speak, and hear. Occasionally, reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling is required. Vision requirements include close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth perception, as well as focus adjustment.

Work Environment

Employees may be exposed to moving mechanical parts, electrical shocks, radiation, and vibration. Noise levels are typically moderate. Reasonable accommodations are available for individuals with disabilities.
