Job summary

EHOB, Inc in Indianapolis is seeking a reliable Material Handler to unload, receive, and store raw materials, label items, and move them to the correct locations using barcode scanning and a WMS system.

You will support inventory counts, prepare materials for distribution, coordinate deliveries with production, and assist in training new staff while adhering to safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

  • Able to read and understand simple instructions, write basic correspondence, and present information clearly.
  • Forklift certification required; familiarity with WMS and barcode scanning preferred.
  • Basic math and data entry skills for inventory and reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Receipt and storage of incoming raw materials and labeling.
  • Issue materials to work centers per production schedule and coordinate deliveries.
  • Perform weekly, bi-weekly, and monthly inventory counts and support cycle counts.
  • Operate barcode scanning and WMS workflows for material movements.
  • Collaborate with production, warehouse, and shipping teams to maintain material flow.
  • Assist in training new or temporary material handlers.

Job description

PurposeLoads, unloads, and moves materials within or near plant or off-site storage facility by performing the following duties. Other duties may be assigned.Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Receipt and storage of all incoming and direct raw materials.This includes labeling and shelving. Issues raw materials to work centers based on production schedule.Coordinates and packages deliveries to and from warehouse based on production schedule.Coordinates the handling and storage of materials that will be stored at EHOB and off-site warehouse.Responsible for weekly, bi-weekly, and monthly inventory of raw materials.Weigh counts all welded goods and stages for shipment to Goodwill or EDC.Provides conticos at work areas for finished goods.Delivers all raw material to production.Loads and unloads all deliveries to EHOB.Perform receiving, put-away, staging, transfers, and material movements using barcode-scanning and WMS-directed workflows, ensuring safe and accurate handling of raw materials, components, and finished goods.Prepare materials for distribution center while maintaining proper labeling, identification, and storage, and reporting any discrepancies, damages, or missing items.Monitor real-time task queues, follow scan-accuracy requirements, resolve basic WMS errors, escalate issues as needed, and support inventory control during audits or cycle counts.Collaborate closely with production, warehouse, and shipping teams to maintain steady material flow, communicate shortages or delays, participate in continuous-improvement efforts, and assist in training new or temporary material handlers.Other duties as assignedEducation and/or ExperienceHigh school diploma or general education degree (GED); or previous steady employment and experience.QualificationsAbility to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers and other employees of the organization.Ability to add, subtract, divide and multiply.Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.Must be certified to drive a fork lift.
