Job summary

iCONN Systems, a connector and cable assembly manufacturer in Lombard, IL, seeks a Material Control handler for our shipping/receiving team. You will load/unload materials, read orders, and ensure accurate material movement and counting.

The role requires lifting up to 50 lbs, forklift certification (or willingness to obtain), and strong computer skills to manage shipping transactions and inventory records, with a schedule Mon-Fri 8:00am-4:30pm.

Qualifications

• Experience in material control within shipping/receiving.
• Must lift 50 lbs and be forklift certified or willing to become certified.
• Proficient with computers for data entry and tracking.
• Ability to read orders, measure, convert, and calculate accurately.
• Familiarity with shipping software and carrier paperwork.

Responsibilities

• Load, unload and move materials within the worksite.
• Read work orders to identify materials to move.
• Load materials onto pallets and secure them for transport.
• Ship items via UPS WorldShip, FedEx; handle LTL shipments and bills of lading.
• Measure and cut cables to specified lengths; perform cycle counting.
• Receive parts into inventory against purchase orders; perform other duties.

JOB DESCRIPTION: Material Control

SUMMARY:

iCONN Systems, LLC is a manufacturer of connectors, cable assemblies and value added turnkey products with facilities in North America and Southeast Asia serving global markets. Our management team has extensive connector/cable assembly experience, in excess of 100 years, to the benefit of our customers. iCONN focuses on engineered solutions which provide our customers with high quality, cost effective designs for their specific applications, backed by superior customer service.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

iCONN Systems material control handler works within the shipping and receiving department. The material control handler must be able to complete the following tasks:

• Load, unload and move materials within worksite.
• Read work orders and/or follow oral instructions to ascertain materials or containers to be moved.
• Load and unload materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks, and shelves by hand.
• Load materials into vehicles and install strapping, bracing or padding to prevent shifting or damage in transit using hand tools.
• Lifting heavy objects by hand.
• Pulling and kitting material from inventory.
• Perform Shipping Transactions via UPS WorldShip and FedEx or any other means as deemed necessary.
• LTL shipment; Bill of lading creation
• Additional duties include measuring and cutting cables to predetermined lengths.
• Perform Cycle Counting functions.
• Receive parts into inventory off of Purchase Orders·
• Perform other job duties as needed.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Work Schedule: Monday to Friday from 8:00am to 4:30pm
• Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs.
• Must be forklift certified or willing to become certified
• Computer knowledge is a must
• Ability to measure, convert, and calculate with accuracy.
