Job summary

Potter Global Technologies seeks a full-time Material Handler for our Hazlewood, MO site. The role involves retrieving products from stock, following work orders, packing items securely, and preparing shipping labels to ensure on-time dispatch. You will inspect items for quality and collaborate with teammates to meet daily shipping goals.

The position is on-site in Hazelwood with a standard 40-hour week, Monday through Friday, and occasional schedule adjustments to fit project needs.

Qualifications

• Experience operating as a material handler or in a similar warehouse role.
• Ability to read instructions and follow manual procedures.
• Ability to perform repetitive motions with lightweight parts (up to 10 lbs).

Responsibilities

• Retrieve products from designated storage locations in the warehouse.
• Read work orders or follow oral instructions to identify materials and quantities.
• Package materials into containers per packing requirements and prevent damage.
• Prepare shipping labels and verify addresses; ensure required paperwork is complete.
• Coordinate with shipping carriers to ensure timely dispatch.
• Inspect items for defects during picking/packing and communicate discrepancies.
• Update stock levels in the inventory system and report shortages or overages.
• Work with teammates to meet daily shipping goals.

What You’ll Do

• Retrieve products from designated storage locations within the warehouse
• Accurately read work order or follow oral instructions to ascertain materials or containers to be picked, packaged, and shipped
• Accurately identifying items based on order specifications and ensuring the correct quantity is selected
• Pack all materials into appropriate containers based on specific packing requirements
• Ensure materials are packed effectively to avoid damage during transit
• Coordinate the shipment process by preparing shipping labels, verifying addresses, and ensuring that all necessary documentation is complete
• Collaborate with shipping carriers to facilitate the timely dispatch of packages
• Conduct visual inspections of products during the picking and packing stages to identify any defects or discrepancies
• Utilize inventory management systems to update stock levels and communicate any shortages or overages, as needed
• Work effectively as a team to achieve daily shipping goals

Key Strengths & Skills

• Ability to conduct repetitive movements of lightweight parts (up to 10 pounds/part)
• Time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
• Able to interact with others in a respectful and collaborative manner
• Adequately read and follow written instructions from an operation manual

Location

This is a full-time position, on-site at our Hazlewood, MO location. The expected schedule is 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, but an occasional shift in hours may be necessary to accommodate project schedules.

You Should Be Proficient In

• Material Handler Experience
