Job summary

G & W Products in Fairfield, OH, is seeking a Material Handler to support efficient production operations. You will receive, store, and move raw materials and finished goods, coordinating with production teams to minimize downtime and ensure inventory accuracy.

The role requires experience in material handling, forklift operation, and attention to detail, with a strong emphasis on safety and teamwork. 1st shift hours are 5:00 am–3:30 pm, Monday to Thursday, with overtime on Friday.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience in material handling or warehousing in manufacturing preferred.
  • Ability to operate forklifts and pallet jacks safely and efficiently.
  • Strong attention to detail and safety compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Receive, unload, and inspect incoming materials and supplies.
  • Transport materials to designated production areas using forklifts or pallet jacks.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records by tracking material movement and reporting discrepancies.
  • Collaborate with production supervisors to prioritize material delivery and sustain workflow.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work area.
  • Assist in cycle counts and physical inventory audits.

About the Role:

The Material Handler plays a critical role in ensuring the efficient flow of materials within the production environment. This position is responsible for the timely receipt, storage, and distribution of raw materials, components, and finished goods to support continuous manufacturing operations. The role requires close coordination with production teams to maintain inventory accuracy and minimize downtime caused by material shortages. Additionally, the Material Handler will uphold safety standards and maintain organized work areas to promote a productive and hazard-free workplace. Ultimately, this position contributes directly to the overall operational efficiency and quality output of the Warehouse process.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Prior experience in material handling or warehouse operations, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to operate material handling equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks safely and efficiently.
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow safety procedures.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Forklift certification or equivalent training.
  • Familiarity with computerized inventory management systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret production schedules and work orders.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively coordinate with team members and supervisors.
