Job summary

Acara Solutions is seeking a Material Handler to support lean manufacturing in Grand Rapids, MI. You will move finished goods, manage material flow, and maintain organized workstations to sustain uninterrupted production.

Ideal candidates bring 1+ year in manufacturing, stockroom experience, and familiarity with MRP/ERP systems. You will collaborate with teams to minimize downtime and ensure timely replenishment of materials to production lines.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• 1+ year of experience in manufacturing, production, warehouse, or material handling.
• 6+ months with MRP/ERP system experience and stockroom inventory management.

Responsibilities

• Remove finished goods and empty containers from workstations and transport them to designated areas.
• Manage Kanban cards or visual signals to trigger timely material replenishment.
• Assist with workstation setup, material staging, and quick changeovers to minimize downtime.
• Stage materials and support production transitions to prevent delays.
• Report shortages, damaged materials, safety concerns, or disruptions promptly.

Job description

• Deliver raw materials, parts, and consumables (fasteners, packaging) to workstations in a just-in-time manner to maintain uninterrupted workflow.
• Support and sustain efficient production flow within assigned work cells, often configured in U-shaped layouts, ensuring technicians and assemblers remain focused on value added assembly tasks.

• Maintain a consistent pace to ensure workstations are never idle.
• Report material shortages, damaged materials, safety concerns, or production disruptions to appropriate personnel to ensure timely resolution.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

What You'll Bring:

• High School Diploma or GED
• 1+ years of experience in manufacturing, production, warehouse, or material handling
• 6+ months with MRP or ERP system experience
• 6+ months of stockroom experience managing inventory

• The associate must frequently lift and move up to 75 pounds.
