Job summary

Acara Solutions in Sutton, MA is seeking a Material Handler on a temp-to-hire basis. The role is 40 hrs/week on the 1st shift (6am to 2:30pm, with some Saturdays).

You will pick and package products, load and unload trucks, and use a forklift and hand tools to move materials, while keeping inventory records up to date. Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or GED and 2+ years in material handling or warehousing.

About the Opportunity

• The Material Handler is responsible for a variety of tasks, including picking and packaging product in an accurate & timely manner, loading and offloading trucks, using computer systems and reports to properly and accurately manage inventory, and maintaining a variety of records, files, and reports.
• This position requires agility and stamina, the use of Fork Trucks and various hand tools.

What You’ll Do:

• While an entry-level position, an individual with room to grow and develop may be afforded advancement opportunities.
• Verifies, maintains, and prepares items and records on incoming and outgoing shipments.
• Moves parts within interior and exterior storage locations using a Fork Truck (requires certification).
• Unloads incoming material; prepares material for storage and movement into the machine shop.
• Visual inspection of parts and complete assemblies.
• Maintain a variety of records, files, and reports; maintain records of stock.
• Complete a variety of complicated tasks in a proper & timely manner with limited oversight.
• Follow all established policies, procedures, and directives issued by management.
• Regular and predictable attendance is an essential element of this job.
• Perform other related duties as assigned by Management.

Job Requirements

What You’ll Bring:

• High School Diploma or GED.
• 2+ years of experience in material handling, warehouse, shipping, receiving, or inventory.

What Sets You Apart:

• Demonstrated ability to make sound judgments based upon experience and knowledge to accomplish goals promptly.
• Able to use Windows-based computer applications.
• Able to carry small handheld loads up and down a \"staircase-type ladder' that requires walking down it backwards.
• Ability to use forklifts, pallet jacks, equipment, and hand tools associated with the shipping and warehousing of products.
• Ability to work independently or with others.
• Ability to work with minimal direction.
• Ability to adapt to a constantly changing work environment.
• Ability to multitask as needed.
• Capable of learning new processes and skills.
