Material Handler – 3rd Shift

Job Responsibilities

• Deliver carton inventory and supply to bindery.
• Deliver signatures to storage.
• Manage inventory and record keeping.
• Receive and manage returned products.
• Backup in the Bindery Department.
• Maintain bailer and vacuum systems.
• Stock pallets, gaylord, and boards; cut new boards when needed.
• Follow safety regulations and work rules.
• Perform general housekeeping in the work area.
• Operate industrial trucks safely and perform daily inspections.
• Handle shipping, receiving, warehouse, and WIP functions.
• Communicate with supervisor as needed.
• Dispose of waste properly.
• Perform preventative maintenance and cleaning of equipment.
• Exercise initiative and seek productivity improvements.
• Keep the work area safe and clean.
• Complete end-of-shift duties and prepare equipment for the next shift.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED, or 6 months related experience.
• 2+ years experience in material handling.
• Ability to interpret instructions and safety rules.
• Accurate math skills and ability to use measuring devices.
• Good communication and organizational skills.
• Proficient with computers, Outlook, Excel, and Word.
• Hi-lo license required.

Preferred Skills

• Previous industrial truck experience.
• Ability to work with software like PrintStream & Flex.
• Experience with tools and machinery such as scales, banding machines, stretch wrappers, label printers, and hand tools.

Physical Requirements

• Lift up to 50 lbs frequently, 20 lbs constantly.
• Stand or sit for prolonged periods.
• Work in noisy environments, high temperatures, and enclosed spaces.
• Ascend/descend ladders and move in tight spaces.
• Repeat motions involving wrists, hands, and fingers.

Schedule and Compensation

• Monday to Friday with possible Saturday overtime.
• Shift options: 1st (7 AM-3 PM), 2nd (3 PM-11 PM), 3rd (11 PM-7 AM).
• Overtime paid at 1.5x after 40 hours/week.
• Shift premiums: 2nd shift 5%, 3rd shift 7%.
