Join to apply for the Material Handler role at POET.

The Material Handler is responsible for loading Dried Distillers Grains, Bioethanol, POET Distillers Corn Oil, POET Wet Distillers, Distillers Syrup, or Biomass into trucks and rail cars. Team members use mechanical equipment, meters, scales, computers, and software to ensure timely delivery and product safety. Based on training, the Material Handler may also grade grain products or biomass.

Responsibilities include:

1. Loading trucks and rail cars with feed and fuel products using mechanical equipment, meters, and scales.
2. Assisting with unloading grain products or biomass.
3. Completing grading of grain products or biomass.
4. Operating large machinery and equipment; obtaining DOT certification if required.
5. Maintaining a clean work area and adhering to safety procedures, including confined space and HAZMAT protocols.
6. Performing equipment maintenance, repairs, and cleaning.
7. Working outdoors, on weekends, and holidays; meeting call-in and extended hour requirements.
8. Learning and operating process software and participating in bioprocessing facility operations.
9. Upholding safety, confidentiality, and environmental compliance standards.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• No experience required for Material Handler I; preferred experience or performance for Material Handler II.
• Experience with heavy machinery and truck loading/unloading is preferred.
• DOT certification is a plus.
• Good organizational and communication skills.

Physical requirements include lifting up to 60 pounds, climbing stairs/ladders, working in various environments, and adhering to safety and drug policies.
