Job Overview:
The material handler is responsible for the efficient and safe movement, storage and tracking of materials and products within the site. This role supervises shipping and receiving operations by ensuring materials are properly handled, documented, stored and delivered to the correct locations promptly.
Key Responsibilities and Essential Tasks
- Load, unload and move materials using forklifts, pallet jack, or by hand
- Receive, inspect and inventory against bill of lading for accuracy and damage
- Maintain accurate inventory records and update “systems” as needed
- Deliver materials to production or storage areas promptly
- Package and prepare materials for delivery according to floors and needs
- Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work environment
- Lead or assist with physical inventory audits
- Communicate effectively with the team members and supervisors

Compensation:
Rex Moore pays hourly/salary rates commensurate with each employee’s knowledge, experience and skill level.
Work environment:
Active commercial jobsite under construction performing the following:
Wearing of personal protective equipment (PPE), always including a hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, work boots and high viz vest/ shirt
Working around energized equipment
Working days, night, weekends, and overtime as required
Willing and able to work in confined and/or small spaces
Constant collaboration with fellow team members
This role requires working in all elements, depending on job location, time of year, heat, cold, rain & snow
LOCATION:
Rex Moore and affiliated offices are located throughout California and Nevada.

Reports to – Project Superintendent
Department –Construction Services
Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Previous material handling experience
- Basic electrical material knowledge recommended but not required
- Ability to operate all-terrain and warehouse forklifts. Certification needed
- Basic math, communication and computer skills
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Physical Requirements:
- Regularly required to talk in order to communicate detailed, important, and accurate instructions to internal and external customers.
- Frequently required walking for long and short distances, walking from one worksite to another.
- Frequently required to stand for sustained periods of time
- Frequently required to bend or twist at the neck and torso
- Frequently required to crouching, squatting, stooping, kneeling
- Frequently required to use and climb ladders to work from heights
- Occasionally required to use scissor, boom, and other personnel lifts to access the work area
- Frequently required to reach above head
- Frequently required to reach forward, grab, grasp, pinching, handle material and tools using upper extremities
- Frequently required to perform repetitive motion tasks
- Frequently required to pull or push using force
- Frequently required to lift objects from low to high positions in horizontal to vertical motions
- Frequently required to lift objects weighing up to 25lbs
- Occasionally required to lift objects weighing up to 50lbs with assistance
- Occasionally sitting in chair, vehicle, or equipment
- Frequently required to talk, express or exchange detailed, important information by means of verbal communication.
- Constantly required to hear sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction. Ability to hear detailed information and distinguish sounds to avoid hazards.
- Required to have near and far sited visual acuity with or without correction. Must be able to inspect small parts, operating tools, using measurement devices and/or assembly or fabrication parts. Must also be able to visually identify and read posted signs, instructions, and identify possible hazards
- Required to have visual acuity to determine the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work assigned.
