Job summary

Goodwill Industries Of Dallas is hiring a Material Handler in Frisco, TX to support textile, shoes, accessories and production areas. You will restock items, rotate equipment, and move materials across departments in a fast-paced retail warehouse environment.

The role requires basic English literacy, ability to stand for long periods, and a willingness to learn safety procedures. Prior material handling or retail stock experience is a plus.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous material handling experience is preferred.
  • Knowledge of retail/stock handling.
  • Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.

Responsibilities

  • Load trucks by placing materials in designated trucks for distribution.
  • Rotate stock and equipment in production areas.
  • Move materials to appropriate departments and locations including waste and salvage.
  • Keep the production area clean, neat, and safe.
  • Assist in textile and miscel power hour process per established procedure.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Team Lead and Production Team Lead.

Under the direction of the Team Leader and Production Team Leader, the Material Handler is responsible for a variety of duties in all departments of the retail warehouse and production area. These duties include restocking of items in both the textile, shoes, accessories, and miscel production areas, rotating equipment, and moving materials as required.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/DUTIES
  • Load trucks by placing materials in designated trucks for distribution.
  • Removing/rotating materials and equipment in designated production areas.
  • Rotate stock and equipment on a timely basis and in accordance with established procedures.
  • Keep the production area clean, neat, and safe.
  • Move materials and equipment to appropriate departments and locations including waste and salvage (via truck).
  • Use of equipment as trained and/or certified.
  • Refilling hangers at hanger stations in textile production area.
  • Maintain a well-groomed appearance and appropriate dress code including name badge.
ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS/DUTIES
  • Assist in textile and miscel power hour process per established procedure.
  • Responsible for performing their assigned duties within the framework of our Core Principles.
  • Attending in-service and related training as assigned by Team Leader.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Team Lead and Production Team Lead.

Education and/or Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Previous material handling experience is preferred.

Physical and Environmental Requirements:

  • Regularly lift and /or move up to 40 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds with assistance.
  • Vision abilities required by this job include close, distance, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Standing and walking for long periods of time.
  • Ability to stoop, bend, kneel, push, and pull.
  • Sufficient mobility to turn from side to side and the ability to lean and remove items from containers.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate (examples: business office with computers and printers, light traffic).
