Job summary

Ball Corporation in Findlay, OH is seeking a Material Handler to join a fast-paced, 24/7 manufacturing environment. You will operate forklifts, move raw materials and finished goods, and ensure safety and quality standards are met.

This role reports to the Plant Warehouse Supervisor, involves 12-hour shifts, 4 days on/4 days off, with 6:30 AM/PM start times. Candidates should have a high school diploma and at least one year in an industrial setting.

Position Overview:

As a Material Handler, you’re a member of an assigned production crew, reporting to the Plant Warehouse Supervisor. You will contribute to the success of Ball by observing operating principles of all assigned equipment and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for your area of responsibility. The Findlay plant is high-volume, fast-paced 24/7-365 days/year manufacturing environment. Our crews work 12 hour days; 4 days on/4 days off; rotate days to nights every 4 weeks. Can line and End line starts at 6:30 AM/PM.

Your Key Responsibilities Include:

• Follow all 5S standards and job safety practices and policies including but not limited to food safety; personal protective equipment; emergency procedures, etc.
• Operate forklift and coordinate products including raw materials, scrap, finished goods, packaging materials, chemicals, and other supplies.
• Effectively communicate with vendors, delivery drivers, and customers.
• Inspect aluminium for proper quality standards and customer specifications.
• Build positive relationships across designated team by effectively collaborating, communicating, and upholding ethical integrity.

Required Experience & Skills:

• High School Diploma or education equivalent.
• 1 year of work experience in an industrial environment.

Preferred Experience & Skills:

• 3 or more years of operation and maintenance of forklift.
• Working knowledge of proper hazardous waste management.
• Experience using JD Edwards, AS900, or similar warehouse or ERP system.

Physical Environment & Working Conditions:

• May be subject to all of the following, but not limited to:
  • Hot/Cold working conditions.
  • Loud /Noisy environment.
  • Standing and walking for prolonged periods of time.
  • Climbing (stairs, catwalks, and other equipment as necessary).

Compensation & Benefits:

• Hourly Rate: $27.37/hour
