Control Devices, LLC is seeking a Material Handler for our Warehouse/Receiving team in Fenton, MO. You will assist with unloading/loading trucks, stock parts, and support production by supplying materials. This role requires forklift operation and data-entry tasks, with emphasis on accuracy and safety.

Ideal candidates have 1–3 years in a warehouse, HS diploma, and proficiency with Word/Excel/Outlook. Overtime may be required in a fast-paced environment within a manufacturing setting.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 1–3 years warehouse experience preferred.
  • Forklift certification required; ability to operate forklift safely.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and written/verbal skills.
  • Good attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Ability to enter data quickly and accurately and follow instructions.

Job description

Position Title: Material Handler - Warehouse

Department: Warehouse/Receiving

Location: Fenton, MO

Reports To: Inventory Supervisor

Classification: Hourly – non-exempt

Last Updated: 7am-3pm Monday-Friday

Position Summary:

Assists with unload and loading of trucks, order picking and supplying production, machine shop departments with parts. Stocking of incoming materials; operate material handling equipment such as pallet jacks, rolling industrial ladders and electric and gas fork trucks. Must be versatile enough to be able to support the entire warehouse team.

Essential Job Duties:

  • Process documentation for internal transfer process.
  • Stock all incoming parts be it purchased or internally machined.
  • Communicate with sales/service and other functional areas to resolve customer problems in a timely manner
  • Other assigned duties
  • Provides administrative support to the warehouse staff such as data entry tasks, completing shipping labels, and other computer skills.
  • Ensures picking, receiving, and shipping accuracy.
  • Coordinates the flow of pick orders, processing, and packaging (as required) of material to be shipped.
  • Loads and unload trucks as needed-verifying items and processing paperwork.
  • Assists in physical inventory, discrepancy resolution and performs cycle counting as required.
  • Ensures shipment is labeled and packaged according to Company specifications.
  • Operates forklift or other power-driven equipment to load or move materials. Ability to become certified and perform the proper forklift techniques.
  • Follow approved procedures in receiving, material storage, shipping preparation, order picking, and order staging.
  • Maintains a safe and clean work environment by keeping shelves, workstation and shipping supply area neat and orderly; comply with procedures, rules and regulations.

Required Education:

  • High School Diploma/GED

Required Experience/Skills:

  • Minimum of 1-3 years experience working in warehouse environment.
  • Other special training relevant to the position.
  • A solid understanding of warehouse operations and associated processes.
  • Ability to drive a forklift (will need to be certified)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Demonstrated strong interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize duties
  • Ability to enter data quickly and accurately
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
  • Strong verbal, written communications skills
  • Flexible scheduling-willing to work overtime as needed

Desired Skills:

  • Previous work experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Forklift experience and certification
