Job summary

Sensient Technologies Corporation is seeking a Material Handler in East St. Louis, IL. The role supports moving products through the facility and maintaining a smooth materials flow, with hours 9:00am–5:00pm, Monday–Friday.

You will load/unload, manage inventory, label and ship items, and work with Inventory Control and Supervisors to adhere to ISO9001 and safety standards. Competitive pay and benefits offered.

  • 3–5 years of inventory operations and forklift experience.
  • Willing to work overtime including weekends.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and math skills.
  • Ability to label, weigh, and dimension freight and document damage.

Responsibilities

  • Load and unload freight from vehicles and containers; manage inventory.
  • Enter and maintain real-time inventory records with AS400.
  • Ensure inventory accuracy of 95% or higher.
  • Label shipments and inspect freight.
  • Prepare shipments and collaborate with Inventory Control and Supervisors to follow ISO9001 and safety standards.

Job description

Come join our skilled team. Sensient is growing rapidly due to the Global Natural Color expansion! You will help us embark on this exciting $1 Billion growth journey!

We are looking for a Material Handler (9:00am – 5:00pm, Monday – Friday) to join our team and play an essential role in coordinating the movement of product throughout the facility to provide a consistent flow of materials.

What You’ll do:
  • Load / unload inbound and outbound freight to and from vehicles and containers. You will also maintain and manage inventory to ensure maximum storage capacity; handle emergency material requests; load and unload docks; manage disposal inventory; and act as forklift driver for Shipping and Receiving.
  • Enter, maintain and update computer inventory records so real-time accurate inventory is available. Manage and maintain inventory in accordance with all housekeeping and stock maintenance guidelines while achieving and maintaining inventory accuracy of 95% or higher.
  • Be responsible for inventory, rotation and inspection of freight held in the warehouse. Label shipments and product.
  • Complete required documentation, prepare shipments and boxes for shipping, and
  • Closely work with Inventory Control, Warehouse Operations Supervisor and Warehouse Operations Manager to become experienced in all warehouse responsibilities and ensure that all warehouse procedures are followed in all areas according to ISO9001 and safety standards.
What You’ll bring:
  • High School diploma or G.E.D., with prior warehouse operations and inventory management experience. (AS400 operation desirable).
  • 3-5 years of inventory operations and forklift (Reach/Stand/Sit) experience required.
  • Ability to work overtime any day up to and including Saturday/Sunday as required.
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal) and math skills.
  • The ability to Label, weigh, and dimension freight and record damaged shipments and misrouted freight on applicable reports.

The salary range for this position is $23.99/hr. Pay within the range is based on several factors, which may include, but are not limited to, education, work experience, specialized training, and labor market conditions.
