Job summary

MPS Group, Inc. is seeking multiple Material Handlers to join our team at the SMP Automotive Systems Facility in Cottondale, AL. You will operate a forklift to move industrial material and waste in a manufacturing setting.

Shifts are 2nd/3rd with schedules: Monday - Friday 2:00 p.m. - 10:30 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. - 6:00 a.m. Candidates should have a High School Diploma or GED and at least one year of manufacturing experience.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1 year of manufacturing experience preferred.
• Forklift operation certification or valid certification required.

Responsibilities

• Operate the forklift, including daily inspections and safe operation.
• Assist with documenting container inspections and waste pickup.
• Inspect waste storage areas and emergency equipment, addressing deficiencies.
• Adhere to site health and safety plan and facility policies.
• Use all assigned PPE and follow instruction sheets.
• Take on other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities and Job Duties

• Operate the forklift, including conducting daily inspections and performing safe operations as trained and certified.
• Assist with documenting container inspections and waste pickup.
• Inspect waste storage areas and emergency equipment, taking corrective action to address deficiencies identified during the inspection.
• Adhere to and comply with the site-specific health and safety plan, host facility policies, and applicable government health, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Use all assigned PPE and follow task instruction sheets.
• Take on other duties as assigned.

Requirements and Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• One-year experience working in a manufacturing environment.
