Material Handler – 1st Shift at Pennsylvania Steel Company, Birmingham, AL

Location: 4230 1st Avenue South, Birmingham, AL 35222

Shift: First – Monday – Friday 8:00 am – 5:00 pm

Main Duties / Responsibilities

Perform various physical tasks related to work order fulfillment involving order pulling, material handling, and packaging. Handle various types of metals by hand or via material handling equipment. Maintain a clean and safe workspace and abide by workplace health and safety policies and procedures. Other assignments as directed.

Required Experience and Skills

• Proficient in Windows‑based software.
• Working knowledge of decimals and fractions.
• Proficient in measuring via tape measure and micrometers.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to work safely in an environment with machinery, overhead cranes, and moving equipment.
• Ability to work a full shift on your feet with little stationary time.
• Agility required to climb stairs, ladders, and access forklifts and truck beds.
• Medium/heavy manual work involving handling over 50 lbs frequently and up to 100 lbs occasionally.
• Tolerance of temperature extremes encountered inside and outside an open warehouse environment.
