Key Job Elements

1. Operate industrial forklift to perform material handling assignments;
2. Receive, identify, and unload materials/parts, and store in inventory;
3. Identify, draw from inventory, and transport material, parts, and equipment related to locomotives;
4. Familiarize with material packaging areas to ensure prompt delivery and supply of required items;
5. Inspect and complete reports related to safe operation and maintenance of material handling equipment;
6. Operate all equipment safely;
7. Assist in other areas and duties as assigned by supervision.

Education / Training

High School Diploma or equivalent.

Qualifications and Experience

1. Minimum 6 months distribution/material handling or equivalent experience;
2. Previous forklift operation experience desired;
3. Basic knowledge of PC for data entry;
4. Ability to work any shift and overtime as required;
5. Ability to stand for long periods;
6. Ability to team lift up to 55 lbs., push and pull up to 125 lbs., with frequent bending and reaching.

Physical and Safety Activities

• Must be able to lift and carry up to 55 lbs., push and pull up to 125 lbs.;
• Constant walking, bending, crouching, stopping, kneeling, squatting, overhead reaching, and ladder climbing;
• Follow written and verbal instructions, hear alarms;
• Work on varied surfaces, heights, in confined spaces, and in all weather conditions with high noise and dust levels;
• Work safely around active tracks, rail cars, locomotives, and moving equipment, abiding by all safety protocols and PPE requirements.
