Job summary

Specialty Building Products is seeking a Material Handler - EWP to join our Alabama team. This role operates forklifts, reads tickets, and supports loading, unloading, and order pulling to ensure timely delivery of building materials.

You will maintain safety, accuracy, and organization in the warehouse, assist with inventory, and collaborate with Supervisors and coworkers to meet daily goals. Prior lumber experience is preferred but not required; certification is a plus.

Qualifications

• Minimum of one year warehouse distribution experience.
• Prior lumber experience desired (engineered lumber preferred).
• Forklift experience and certification preferred but not required.
• Must read a tape measure and perform basic math.

Responsibilities

• Maintain clean, organized warehouse and drive efficiency.

Job description

US Lumber, an SBP Brand, is currently looking for a Material Handler - EWP to join our team.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate forklifts or other machinery (chainsaw) in order to complete assigned tasks including loading and unloading, moving, staging, pulling orders and transporting material.
• Band, wrap, and tape product as needed.
• Maintains condition of Warehouse work area, e.g. free of trash, product in correct location and organized, swept floors.
• Work cooperatively and productively with Supervisors and other employees in order to complete required work load.
• Provide and inspire outstanding service to customers by maintaining attention to detail, accuracy, quality and completing assigned work in a timely manner.
• Assist with inventory variances, order accuracy and track and trace issues.
• Follow U.S. Lumber safety policies and procedures and encourage others to do the same. This includes performing daily forklift safety checklists.
• Reading and understanding tickets and the various codes for products
• Must learn how to use a chainsaw and Holtec Industrial Saw
• Must be able to read a tape measure.
• Accurately pull daily orders.
• Other duties as assigned by supervisors or management.

Qualifications

• Minimum of one (1) year warehouse distribution experience.

• Must have basic math and analytical skills
• Must be computer literate, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
