Job summary

Specialty Building Products, including the U.S. Lumber brand, is seeking a Warehouse Associate to support loading, unloading, sorting, staging, and transporting products with minimal supervision.

The role emphasizes safety, accuracy, and teamwork to maintain organization and efficiency in a fast-paced warehouse. Responsibilities include forklift operation, wrapping and labeling, inventory checks, and ensuring high-quality customer service.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• Minimum of one year warehouse distribution experience.
• Prior lumber experience is preferred.
• Forklift experience and forklift certification are preferred but not required.
• Must have basic math and analytical skills.
• Must be computer literate (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Team Lead/Shift supervisor experience is preferred.
• Self-starter and proactive with initiative.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate forklifts or other machinery to load, unload, move, and transport products.
• Band, wrap, and tape products as needed.
• Keep warehouse area clean, organized, and safe.
• Collaborate with Supervisors and colleagues to complete workloads.
• Provide quality service to customers with attention to detail and timeliness.
• Assist with inventory variances and order accuracy checks.
• Follow safety policies and perform daily forklift safety checks.
• Read tickets and product codes; learn to use a chainsaw and Holtec Industrial Saw.
• Read a tape measure and accurately pull daily orders.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors.

Job description

U.S. Lumber, an SBP Brand, is currently looking for a Warehouse Associate to join our VALUES based organization to responsible, at various points, for loading, unloading, sorting, staging, transporting and otherwise handling products that come into and move out of the warehouse.
Individuals in this position must work cooperatively with other Associates and productively with little supervision. Individuals must follow SBP's safetypolicies and procedures at all times.

Responsibilities and Essential Function

Safely operate forklifts or other machinery (chainsaw) in order to completeassigned tasks including loading and unloading, moving, staging, pulling ordersand transporting material.

• Band, wrap, and tape product as needed.
• Maintains condition of Warehouse work area, e.g. free of trash, product in correctlocation and organized, swept floors.
• Work cooperatively and productively with Supervisors and other employees inorder to complete required work load.
• Provide and inspire outstanding service to customers by maintaining attention to detail, accuracy, quality and completing assigned work in a timely manner.
• Assist with inventory variances, order accuracy and track and trace issues.
• Follow SBP safety policies and procedures and encourage others to do the same. This includes performing daily forklift safety checklists.
• Reading and understanding tickets and the various codes for products
• Must learn how to use a chainsaw and Holtec Industrial Saw
• Must be able to read a tape measure.
• Accurately pull daily orders.
• Other duties as assigned by supervisors or management

Required credentials:

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of one (1) year warehouse distribution experience.
• Prior lumber experience desired. Engineered Lumber experience is preferred.
• Forklift experience and forklift certification preferred, but not required.
• Must have basic math and analytical skills
• Must have computer literate, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Team Lead/Shift supervisor experience is preferred.
• Self-starter, pro-active and able to take initiative.
