Job summary

Emerson Discrete Automation is seeking a Material Handler in Aiken, SC. You will manage warehouse tasks including picking, transferring parts, and shipping to assembly lines and international orders.

You will support cycle counts, maintain organized stock areas, and assist with safety and housekeeping across the stockroom. The role requires operating pallet jacks, scales, and AGVs, plus using AS400 and Ultriva to track and locate parts.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Operate AS400/Ultriva to locate parts, print labels, and track movements.
  • Create pick, pack and ship documents for WRO and International shipments.
  • Perform Kanban and supermarket transfers and process phone orders from assembly lines.
  • Assist in cycle count activities and maintain organized stock areas.
  • Return materials to correct locations if not needed; ensure safety compliance.
  • Maintain daily housekeeping and clearly label rows and shelves.

Job description

Are you looking for a great opportunity in Aiken, South Carolina? Come join our team at Emerson Discrete Automation. We have a great opportunity for a Material Handler who is eager to grow with our company. This role will work with the Stockroom Supervisor and will be responsible for various operations within the Warehouse, including picking, transfer of parts, transporting complete orders to assembly lines, participating in cycle counts and inventories, process outbound truck shipments and international orders, maintain assigned area rows and perform special assigned tasks such as bin recovery and phone/return to stock.

  • Use/Operate AS400/Ultriva systems to determine part locations, quantities, descriptions, print labels for boxes and troubleshootlast activity, items received, issued and/or location transactions.

Create pick, pack and ship documents for WRO and International shipments.

Analyze pick sheets to determine the location of parts, required quantity, determine appropriate container, print and affix part number labels and place in designated location.

Perform KANBAN and supermarket transfers/delivery and complete phone orders from the assembly lines. If parts are not needed, return materials back to the appropriate location.

Assist in all activities of the cycle count.

Safety is the primary responsibility of each employee.Obey all safety rules and make safety an integral part of each task. Stop work if continuing is unsafe or will create an unsafe condition.

Given an assigned area in the stockroom, ensure that daily housekeeping is completed including a clean and organized work area, shelves and boxes dust free, box tops should be folded in/and or cut and sweeping the floor.

All parts placed in the appropriate location, with all containers facing in such a manner that the part number can easily be read. Ensure that each row is clearly marked with the row/shelf number.

Perform other tasks as assigned by supervisor.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
  • Act with utmost integrity, professionalism and positive attitude.
  • Must be a team player.
  • Must be able to perform all work assignments with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to use pallet jacks, scales, and initiate the operation of AGV's

Must understand how to use FIFO and principle of using it

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

TRAINING REQUIREMENTS:

PHYSICAL DEMAND:

While performing duties you may be required to stand, walk, stoop, bend, twist and/or lift up to 50 pounds. May be required to work more than 8 hours in a day or 40 hours in a week.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT:

  • Exposed to manufacturing plant conditions and elements including but not limited to noise, dust, dirt, oil and grease.
  • PPE's will be required including safety glasses, ear plugs and/or safety shoes.
  • May be required to work at different stockroom areas as needs require.
