Job summary

Continental is seeking a Material Handler to ensure orderly, timely flow of materials on the plant floor, coordinating transfers between production areas and inventory, and following safety and ISO standards. You will assemble orders, prepare materials for shipment, verify outgoing shipments, and help maintain a clean, safe work area while supporting Kanban planning and production goals.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in English (reading, writing, and verbal) equivalent to a high school education.
• A minimum of 1 year in manufacturing - Internal Employee Only.
• Mechanical aptitude with good manual dexterity.
• Understanding of production flows and work-center procedures.
• Ability to manage detailed tasks requiring sustained concentration.
• Ability to obtain and maintain forklift and specialized equipment certifications.
• Ability to meet quality and production standards.

Responsibilities

• Ensure uninterrupted material flow across all lines and shifts through staging, kitting, and transfer of material.
• Support the production efforts to increase product flow through the plant.
• Assemble orders and prepare materials and products for shipment.
• Use shipping records to verify the accuracy of outgoing shipments and orders.
• Maintain a neat and orderly work area and comply with company policies.
• Develop, maintain and continually improve a material flow program.
• Assist in Kanban planning with material supervisor to ensure availability.
• Act as a contact point for scheduling and other departments as pertains to product availability.
• Other material handling duties as needed; may require weekend work.
