Job summary

Generac, a leading energy technology company, is seeking a Material Flow Engineer in Trenton, SC. The role focuses on designing and optimizing material flow for raw materials and WIP, from concept through handoff to Operations.

You will analyze dock utilization, line-side layout, and labor estimates to improve efficiency and safety. You will collaborate with Manufacturing, Packaging and Supply Chain to embed manufacturability early in programs, supporting both high-volume and high-mix production

Qualifications

Minimum 2 years in a similar engineering role in manufacturing or distribution.
Knowledge of safety practices, quality control, preventative maintenance, and facility layouts.
Experience in Lean principles.

Responsibilities

Design, prototype, and implement material flow options within the plant.
Incorporate visual signals into kitting operations to streamline material handling.
Develop end-to-end material flow designs covering BOMs, optimizing space, labor and throughput.
Design dock-to-use material handling processes, dock door utilization, transport paths and line-side locations.
Collaborate with Manufacturing, Packaging and Supply Chain to ensure manufacturability early in programs.
Lead process designs for high-volume and low-volume, high-mix environments.
