Job summary

Slate is seeking an Engineer, Material Flow to design and optimize material flow systems across warehouse and manufacturing environments in the USA. The role emphasizes lean principles, line balancing, and cross-functional collaboration to improve delivery efficiency and factory logistics.

Relocation to Warsaw, Indiana is supported with assistance. The ideal candidate will have 3+ years in material flow, strong AutoCAD/ERP/Microsoft Excel skills, and the ability to lead complex projects

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial/Mechanical Engineering or related field; 3+ years in material flow or logistics.
  • Hands-on experience with material handling equipment from concept through operations.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, simulation tools, ERP systems, and Excel.

Responsibilities

  • Design and optimize material flow from warehouse to point-of-use.
  • Implement lineside replenishment systems to improve delivery.
  • Develop layouts for material handling to maximize space.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align with schedules.
  • Lead pull systems with balanced stock at use points.
  • Manage PFEP, analyzing volumes, packaging, and transport.
  • Conduct simulations to identify congestion and shortages.
  • Oversee equipment from concept to deployment.
  • Evaluate new tech for warehouse optimization and ROI.
  • Support cost optimization and lean line presentation.
  • Present business cases to leadership and manage budgets.
