Job summary

MISTRAS Group seeks a highly organized Materials Coordinator to support field operations at the Kuparuk River Unit on Alaska’s North Slope. You will plan, procure, track, and distribute insulation, scaffolding, and related materials, coordinating with field crews, warehouse, and procurement to ensure timely, safe project execution.

The role requires 3+ years in material coordination, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work a rotational North Slope schedule.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting insulation, scaffolding, maintenance, construction, or turnaround projects preferred.

Responsibilities

Position Summary

MISTRAS Group is seeking a highly organized and motivated Materials Coordinator – Insulation & Scaffolding to support field operations at the Kuparuk River Unit on Alaska's North Slope.

The Materials Coordinator will be responsible for planning, ordering, tracking, receiving, inventory control, and distribution of insulation, scaffolding, and related consumable materials required to support field operations.

This position serves as a key liaison between field crews, warehouse personnel, procurement teams, vendors, and client representatives to ensure materials are available when needed for safe, efficient, and timely project execution.

Coordinate the procurement, receipt, storage, tracking, and issuance of scaffolding, insulation, and related materials.

Monitor material inventories and maintain adequate stock levels to support current and upcoming work scopes.

Review work plans, schedules, and material forecasts to ensure required materials are available when needed.

Process material requests from field supervisors and coordinate deliveries to designated work locations.

Verify incoming shipments for accuracy, quantity, and condition.

Maintain accurate inventory records and material tracking documentation.

Conduct routine inventory audits and physical counts.

Coordinate transportation and logistics for movement of materials between warehouses, laydown yards, fabrication shops, and field locations.

Track and report material usage, shortages, discrepancies, and damaged materials.

Collaborate with project management and field supervision to forecast future material requirements.

Ensure proper storage and preservation practices are followed to protect company and client assets.

Generate and maintain reports related to inventory levels, material consumption, procurement status, and outstanding material requirements.

Support scaffold and insulation planners by identifying material requirements based on project plans and field needs.

Work closely with procurement personnel to expedite critical materials and resolve supply chain issues.

Assist with project mobilization and demobilization activities.

Ensure compliance with company policies, client requirements, and applicable safety regulations.

Participate in daily planning meetings and provide updates regarding material availability and potential shortages.

Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse and laydown yard environment.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED required.

Experience using inventory management, warehouse management, or ERP systems.

Forklift certification or previous experience operating material-handling equipment.

Experience coordinating contractor-owned and client-owned materials.

Experience working in remote industrial or construction environments.

Physical Requirements

Ability to work safely in Arctic weather conditions.

Ability to frequently walk, climb stairs, and navigate uneven surfaces.

Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.

Ability to work in warehouse, laydown yard, and industrial operating environments.
