Job summary

Akima Global Logistics (AGL) in Anchorage, AK is seeking a Material Coordinator to manage the movement, accountability, and documentation of Army equipment at a contractor-managed turn-in site. Qualifications

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent or relevant work experience.
  • 3-5 years of logistics, supply, or materiel management experience preferred.
  • Prior Army or contractor experience in equipment turn-in or supply support is preferred.
  • Familiarity with Army regulations and supply systems is expected.
  • Strong leadership, organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and process Army supply documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the receipt, staging, and movement of equipment turned in by Army units.
  • Ensure proper sequencing and prioritization of items for inspection, accountability, and storage.
  • Track status of turn-ins from initial receipt through final disposition.
  • Support high-volume turn-in operations with workflow and resource management.
  • Review and validate supply documents (DA Form 1348-1A, DD Form 200, hand receipts, condition codes).
  • Enter data accurately into Army systems (GCSS-Army, DPAS, LMP).
  • Maintain logs, spreadsheets, and reports for daily, weekly, and monthly activity.
  • Support audit readiness by maintaining compliant material records.
  • Coordinate with warehouse staff for storage, location management, and retrieval of equipment.

Job description

AGL is looking for a Material Coordinator to work in Anchorage, AK.

The Material Coordinator is responsible forcoordinating the movement, accountability, and documentation of Army equipment and materiel at a contractor-managed equipment turn-in site. This role ensures smooth flow of equipment through the turn-in process, compliance with Army supply regulations and contract requirements, andaccurateupdates tologisticssystems. The Material Coordinator works closely with supply, warehousing, and transportation staff to ensure all equipment is received, classified, staged, and processed for accountability and disposition.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate the receipt, staging, and movement of equipment turned in by Army units.
  • Ensure proper sequencing and prioritization of items for inspection, accountability, and storage.
  • Track status of turn-ins frominitialreceipt through final disposition.
  • Support high-volume, mass turn-in operations by managing workflow and resource allocation.
  • Review andvalidatesupply documents such as DA Form 1348-1A, DD Form 200, hand receipts, and condition codes.
  • Ensuretimelyandaccuratedata entry into Army systems such as GCSS-Army, DPAS, or LMP.
  • Maintain logs, spreadsheets, and reports for daily, weekly, and monthly activity.
  • Support audit readiness bymaintainingaccurateand compliant material records.
  • Coordinate with warehouse staff for storage, location management, and retrieval of equipment.
  • Ensure proper tagging, labeling, and segregation of serviceable, unserviceable, and HAZMAT items.
  • Monitor availability and safe use of material handling equipment (MHE).
  • Work with transportation staff to schedule and track incoming and outgoing shipments.
  • Prepare cargo movement requests, shipping documentation, and load plansin accordance withArmy and DTR standards.
  • Ensure accountability during loading, movement, and offloading of equipment.
  • Assistunit supply personnel during turn-in to resolve documentation discrepancies.
  • Serve as a liaison between contractor site staff, Army units, and the Contracting Officer’s Representative (COR).
  • Provide responsive customer service to supported units whilemaintaining compliance.
Physical Demands & Working Environment:
  • Must be able tolift upto 50 lbs. and perform routine standing, walking, bending, and reaching tasks in warehouse and field environments.
  • Must also meet all physical requirements necessary to perform assigned duties, including working in extreme heat or cold, high, or low humidity, blowing sand and dust, confined spaces, heights, and other inclement weather conditions.
  • This position involves working both indoors and outdoors, periodic overtime, and exposure to heat, dust, cold, and adverse weather conditions.
Qualifications
  • Education:High school diploma or equivalent is preferred; however, equivalent relevant work experience may be substituted.
  • Experience:3-5 years oflogistics, supply, or materiel management experience.
  • Prior U.S. Army or contractor experience in equipment turn-in or supply support activities (SSA) strongly preferred.
  • Army supply regulations: AR 710-2, AR 735-5, DA PAM 710-2-1.
  • Armylogisticssystems: GCSS-Army, DPAS, LMP, TC-AIMS II.
  • Familiarity with Army documentation and condition coding requirements.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and process Army supply documentation.
  • Ability tooperateor coordinate safe use of MHE
  • Effective communication and coordination skills with Army units and contractor staff.
  • Must be able to obtain andmaintaina Common Access Card (CAC)
  • Must be able to obtain Tier1/ NACI (Public trust) background eligibility.
  • Basicproficiencyin the English language (reading and writing).
  • Proficiencyin Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Must receive a favorable background check and drug testing results.
  • Must have a REAL ID.
  • Must have a valid driver's license with proof of vehicle insurance.
  • Employees maybe requiredto perform other duties as assigned.
  • Must be able to travel within the United States asrequired. This position requires travel up to 25% of the time.
