SWJ Technologie specializes in providing engineering, planning, and project management services across various industries. We are currently seeking a Material Control Specialist for a client in the automotive industry, specializing in car manufacturing. This is a contractor role based in Greer, SC that requires onsite presence. PURPOSE:
To efficiently ensure the timely availability of the correct quantity and specification of parts required to support the production program. The Material Control Specialist plays a key role in meeting TS-M (Material Planning) targets and ensuring alignment with clients overall production and operational goals.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work safely 100% of the time.
  • Controls supplies and stock by timely planning the correct quantity of parts, while at the same time optimizing the stock on hand.
  • Performs basic data processing and parameter administration in the Material Planning system.
  • Supports on-going series production, parts run-in and run-out, and processing of technical changes within this scope is the minimization of obsolescence costs.
  • Maintains and analyzes monthly Supplier rating and yearly SUMIS (Supplier Management Information System) rating information as applicable
  • Participates in TS-M projects, or projects led outside TS-M.
  • Acts as a contact to all suppliers and carriers, logistics association, and institutions
  • Performs other duties as assigned byoperations supervisor
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • BS/BA degree in Logistics, Business Administration OR International Business with German concentration or related discipline preferred OR4 years equivalent professional experience in Material Planning including Material Requirements Planning (MRP).
  • 2+years of related professional experience in Material Planning including Material Requirements Planning (MRP) a plus
  • 1-3 years of experience in Supply Chain Management
  • 1-3 years of experience in Material Control and Production Control Management.


REQUIRED SKILLS:
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with all levels within the organization
  • SAP Experience
  • Basic German or Spanish (a plus)
  • Proven capability to develop and support strategic directions and concepts for the organization.
  • Strong conceptual thinking, analytical and problem-solving skills; understanding need for details and big picture-
  • Ability to focus on customer needs and achieve results effectively in a team environment
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and apply time management independently

PREFERRED SKILLS:
  • Any previous work experience with engineering change coordination would be a plus
  • Spoken and written German language skills
  • Knowledge of Quality Management System
  • SAP experience
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Work is normally performed in an office, laboratory, manufacturing floor, or machine shop setting where physical work includes, but is not limited to, sitting, standing, reaching, kneeling, bending, and lifting up to 25 lbs.
  • Must be able to understand and comply with all relevant safety practices.

FLSA STATUS/WORKING SCHEDULE :
  • Location: Greer, SC
  • Schedule: A-shift position 6 am - 4pm
  • Assignment Start: ASAP
  • Assignment End: 1 Year Contract position
