Job summary

Victaulic, a global leader in mechanical pipe joining solutions, seeks a Material Control Manager in Atlanta, GA. This role directs material planning, inventory control, and warehousing to ensure uninterrupted production while optimizing supplier performance and costs.

You will liaison across Production, Purchasing, Engineering, and Quality to drive improvements and resilience. The ideal candidate has 5–8 years in materials management, strong ERP/MRP experience, and leadership in manufacturing.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • 5–8 years of progressive experience in Materials/Supply Chain/Operations.
  • 3+ years of leadership in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong Excel and data analysis skills.
  • Experience with ERP, MRP, and warehouse management systems.

Responsibilities

  • Direct all material planning, inventory management, warehousing, receiving, and shipping activities.
  • Coordinate procurement activities with Purchasing to ensure timely material acquisition.
  • Lead inventory control, audits, and cycle counts; manage accuracy and variance reduction.
  • Develop contingency plans to mitigate supply disruptions and material shortages.
  • Oversee material flow and coordination with Production, Quality, Engineering, and Suppliers.

In this role, you'll ensure the uninterrupted flow of raw materials, purchased components, consumables, and finished goods throughout the facility, while optimizing inventory investment, supplier performance, and operational efficiency. You'll serve as the primary liaison between Production, Purchasing, Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, and external suppliers, leading inventory control initiatives, developing supplier partnerships, managing warehouse and material flow operations, and driving continuous improvement — providing strategic leadership across all material management functions.WHAT YOU'LL BUILD & OWNMaterial Planning & Supply Chain ManagementLead and facilitate the Material Planning team to ensure uninterrupted material availability for productionDevelop and execute material planning strategies to support production schedules and customer demandCoordinate procurement activities with Purchasing to ensure timely acquisition of production materialsDevelop and maintain strong supplier relationships to improve delivery performance, quality, responsiveness, and cost managementMonitor supplier performance and establish corrective action plans when performance expectations are not metCreate contingency plans to mitigate supply chain disruptions, material shortages, transportation delays, or supplier-related issuesServe as the primary point of contact for production and quality concerns related to material availability and supplier performanceCollaborate with suppliers and internal stakeholders to support new product introductions, production launches, and operational expansionsAnalyze demand forecasts and production schedules to develop material requirements plansLead initiatives to optimize inbound and outbound material flow processesInventory Management & ControlDevelop, implement, and maintain inventory control systems that ensure inventory accuracy and material availabilityEstablish inventory targets, safety stock levels, reorder points, and replenishment strategiesConduct inventory audits, cycle counts, and physical inventories to validate inventory accuracyInvestigate inventory discrepancies and implement corrective actionsMonitor inventory performance metrics, including inventory turns, excess inventory, obsolete inventory, and carrying costsDevelop strategies to reduce inventory investment while maintaining service levelsMaintain accurate inventory records within ERP, MRP, and warehouse management systemsWarehouse & Material Flow OperationsDirect all receiving, warehousing, material handling, storage, and shipping activitiesEnsure proper material
