We're looking for a passionate and experienced leader to join our Fabrication and Catalog department in our Kansas City, MO facility. In this role, you'll supervise highly productive, cost-effective, quality-oriented manufacturing operations, organizing and coordinating employees and activities to meet safety, quality, and production standards. You'll work with a collaborative, diverse team that values creativity and continuous improvement, driving process enhancements and developing the people who make them happen. What You'll Build & Own
Production & Scheduling
  • Anticipate and effectively respond to schedules and product flow essential to supervising highly productive, cost-effective, quality-oriented manufacturing operations
  • Organize, coordinate, and supervise employees and activities to ensure efficient operations that meet safety, quality, and production standards
  • Establish and control procedures to meet production schedules
  • Assign work to team members to achieve department objectives with respect to production processes, company policies, production schedules, work orders, equipment capacity, and employee capabilities
  • Identify and implement opportunities to enhance fabrication capabilities based on market demand
Quality & Cost Control
  • Establish and monitor procedures to ensure production of high-quality, conforming fabricated assembly components
  • Monitor and control established procedures to ensure compliance with quality standards
  • Develop and oversee cost control systems to achieve department budget objectives
  • Recommend and initiate improvements to production processes to increase manufacturing efficiency
  • Support material quality concerns by coordinating with the required groups across the organization
Safety & Compliance
  • Ensure adherence to safety, maintenance, and housekeeping requirements
  • Facilitate and promote company policy and the company Quality Improvement program across all department work groups
  • Work with the FEM team to help the facility meet its FEM goals quarterly, semiannually, and annually
People Leadership
  • Provide training, support, direction, and guidance to department personnel to continually develop their work habits, job skills, and safety practices
  • Evaluate employee performance and provide objective, constructive feedback to support continued growth
  • Recommend and/or administer personnel actions in accordance with company policies and procedures
  • Set department goals and develop a plan for achievement
What You Bring
  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Production Management, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and the ability to learn and use fabrication-related software
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical manuals
  • Strong ability to lead diverse teams, with effective listening, coaching, and problem-solving skills, while being able to pitch in when needed
  • Understanding and application of workplace safety procedures
  • Willingness to work overtime as needed
Physical Requirements & Work Environment
  • Ability to lift 45 pounds and perform tasks involving fine and gross motor skills

May be exposed to excessive noise, welding gases and fumes, and varying weather conditions.
