Job summary

kdc/one is seeking a Material Control Lead to manage receiving, picking, staging, auditing and shipping of components and finished goods. The role supports production material flows, runs inventory cycle counts, and reconciliations per SOPs/WIs to ensure accuracy.

The position requires coordinating inbound/outbound logistics with trucking providers, using SAP for material movements, and maintaining safety and quality standards in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 3+ years warehouse experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Preferred forklift certification; stand up reach/sit down counterbalance.
• SAP experience is preferred.
• Strong Excel and computer skills; ERP familiarity.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate receiving, shipping, and material request functions with internal and external stakeholders.
• Ensure accurate Gate conversion of pallets from WIP to Finished Goods.
• Issue, return and adjust components to/from production using SAP (MB1A, MB1C, MIGO, LT01, LT06, LB13, NVL09, NVL02N, CORS).
• Schedule inbound deliveries and outbound shipments with trucking companies; use customer inventory portal as applicable.
• Maintain records per SOPs/WIs; enter order data in SAP and reconcile variances.
• Distribute pick lists to forklift operators based on production/shipping schedules.
• Operate PIT equipment per safety procedures; maintain safety gear and housekeeping.
• Create and manage SAP support tickets for production-impacting issues.

Summary:

The Material Control Lead is responsible for all functions related to the receiving, picking, staging, auditing and shipping of components and finished goods (FG). This position also supports production material flows related to issuing and returning from production, perform components and finished goods inventory cycle counts and reconciliations in accordance with applicable Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and Work Instructions (WI).

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Responsible for coordinating, organizing, and communicating the receiving, shipping, and material request functions with both internal and external key stakeholders to support production facilities and warehouses.
• Responsible for ensuring the accurate Gate conversion of pallets from WIP to Finished Goods.
• Responsible for the accurate issuance, returns and adjustments of components to and from production using SAP transactions. (MB1A, MB1C, MIGO, LT01, LT06, LB13,NVL09,NVL02N,CORS).
• Coordinates and schedules inbound deliveries and outbound shipments with local and regional trucking companies; processes in customers inventory portal as applicable.
• Completes and retains all receiving and shipping documentation and records based on applicable SOPs and WI.
• Enters order information in SAP, applies a label to material received, investigates and works with inventory control to reconcile any variances, and coordinates warehouse locations for materials.
• Coordinates and facilitates the distribution of pick lists to forklift operators based on the production and shipping schedules.
• Operates powered industrial equipment (PIT) in accordance with established safety procedures, completes daily checklists and notifies leadership of any issues that need addressed.
• Secures and maintains all necessary safety equipment and follows established safety procedures.
• Performs inventory control cycle counts and assists in investigating inventory related issues.
• Able to anticipate/identify problems and use available resources to provide effective solutions. Create and manage SAP support tickets for production-impacting system issues.
• Able to act on decisions with the corresponding level of urgency.
• Maintains safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel on the use of all control points, equipment, and resources, maintaining compliance with established policies and procedures.
• Actively encourage and apply lean techniques and processes.
• Delivers quality and accuracy in own work.
• Performs special assignments as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

• 3+ years minimum warehouse experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Preferred to be forklift certified; stand up reach/sit down counterbalance.
• SAP experience is preferred.
• Computer proficient with ERP and Microsoft Office applications, Strong Excel skills required.
• Must have strong prioritization skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong organizational, planning and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to exercise sound, independent judgment.

Working Conditions and Physical Demands:

• Must be able to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds manually.
• Not a climate-controlled environment except for the office/desk space; the noise level is usually moderate.
• Must be able to sit for long periods of time in front of a computer, stand, walk, use hands to handle and feel, reach with hands or arms, stoop, crouch, talk, hear, push, and pull.
• Exposure to frequent movement of motorized equipment throughout the facility.
• Able to work overtime & weekends as required.
